I guess its what you make of it. We are very happy with NOT having activities as we are both working stiffs and just want to sit and relax. My wife loves just reading and relaxing in the day spa, and I am into crafting and on the cruise it gives me finally the time to work on them in a beautiful environment that serves drinks no less. I bring at least two projects to do with me on cruises (on all vacations for that matter,) to do at my leisure without home stuff to interfere.

Sorry The Gem wasn't the ship for you. It is a very relaxing ship, geared more towards couples than families. Maybe a little more research on the ship before you book for tour next cruise.

Thanks for the review. We always find more than enough to do on a cruise and love just relaxing on deck, reading a good book, doing a crossword puzzle or sudoku, or just doing nothing, which people seem to have lost the ability to do.
