Review summary

We really enjoy cruising out of Boston to Bermuda. We have already booked our third cruise to there in October 2020.There are so many things to see in Bermuda and the best part is there are no locals trying to solicit anything.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
NCL does it right out of Boston. The embarkation process is very easy. We are past guests so we have a separate line. We also get preferred boarding. Either way they have many representatives helping everyone to insure a quick process. The representatives are also very friendly and willing to answer all questions.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffets were good for what they were. The outside cookouts on sea days were a refreshing change. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants. This time we did Cagney which was fine. We also tried two new restaurants for us. Le Bistro was also good. The best one we went to was Moderno. It is a Brazilian style restaurant where they bring out various cooked meats and pineapples on skewers that they cook off to order. Great concept and flavor. Our best dining experience by far. The main dining rooms were also good. It would be nice if they changed the menu items more often. A lot of the same old, same old. All in all, there is good food somewhere and if you go hungry something is wrong.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
With a 7 yr old we spent the majority of our time at the pool. The slide got a lot of use. I also went to the casino. Texas Holden tournaments need a little more coordination.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The entertainment was good. The music and dancing was just what you would expect on a cruise experience.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
We didn’t really use the kids club. It seems like every time we wanted to use it they were closed or they were only open for a short window of time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone seemed to very courteous and friendly. Our room steward Sherwin attended to our every need. On aside note if you want towel animals made you will need to request it. They do no just do it anymore.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
NCL is very conscious about germs and seem to do there best to keep things clean. They even have “Washy-Washy” people to spray disinfectant into everyone’s hands.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We stayed in a midship mini suite and it was great. There seem to be more than enough room for me my wife and my daughter. The Balcony was larger than normal and it was great to sit outside and enjoy the views. Sherwin our cabin steward was great and attended to our every need.

Ship tip

If you want to see towel animals at night make sure you request them from your cabin steward. They do not just make them as they did in the past.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
This is our happy place and where we can live our best life. This is our second time to Bermuda and we were able to see things that we didn’t the first time. We went golfing and to Tobacco bay. Save you money on snorkeling excisions and spend the day at Tobacco Bay and rent a mask.

Boston, Massachusetts

3 out of 5
No excursions here.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation was OK. They have a good ticket procedure for timeslots that seems to help. It always seems to take a lot of time but that is probably because people do not want their vacation to end.
