Review summary

I did not want to go on a cruise - any cruise. I thought I had no interest. I did it for my Wife. We are now discussing where we will be taking our NEXT cruise to.... That should tell you all you need to know.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation would have been great except that there was a long line. In reality, the ship had a "logistics problem" getting through port and to the dock. And the delay caused the backup. Also, we had "platinum check-in" and should have (could have) literally walked right through and bypassed the line altogether. However the port Security Staff sent us to (forced us into) the wrong line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There were a lot of people complaining about the food - simple statement. Another simple statement - there are a lot of spoiled and pretentious people out there ! All meals and drinks were excellent.

Waves Bar

5 out of 5

My Boys ! My Brothers ! If this crew doesn't make your day then you need to go back to bed and wake up tomorrow ! ! ! Friendly service, proper drinks (they'd make ANYTHING !) and just enough "clowning around" to make the whole team PERFECT !

Cagney's Steakhouse

5 out of 5

Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was what put this restaurant over the top !

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I stated excellent, but I really have no idea. The topic is "Onboard Activities", but there were way too many for me to try them all ! What parts I was involved with, certainly did not disappoint !

Entertainment

5 out of 5
My experiences with entertainment was mostly singing and music, which was all super. My Wife went to one of the shows and absolutely loved it.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had one Hostess that apparently was having a "bad day"... PERIOD ! Everyone else was FANTASTIC !

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
OK... what the hell would I know about designing ships...? The Cleanliness part... CONSTANT ! Yes, the ship was exceeding clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Aft-facing Balcony Suite with upgraded amenities (including a butler). One word - UNBELIEVABLE ! For the price, what we received far exceeded expectations. One "down-side" though.... My Wife is now "spoiled" and we'll be "Suite-people" from here on out.

Ship tip

Listen to what others have to say, but take it with a grain if salt. Discover for yourself and formulate your own opinions. For example: if I order a steak medium-rare and I like it more to the rare side - and that's what I get - it's perfect. However, if I order a steak done medium-rare and I like it more to the medium side, then I would have a complaint that the steak was not done to my liking.

Ports of call

New York, New York

5 out of 5
What can I say... I love New York !

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Would go back. Absolutely love the excursion - "Greg's 4x4 Island and Rain Forest Excursion". Now here's a man that's a walking encyclopedia !

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
The Island was pretty but the excursion kinda' sucked....

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
Beautiful Island, but the real joy was the excursion we took. We did the "Atlantis Submarine Excursion". This is an absolute "must-do" experience.

St. John's, Antigua

4 out of 5
Nice Island but not-so-nice excursion. But it had nothing to do with the excursion itself. There was a particular couple that kinda' made it bad for everyone - a real shame.

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

3 out of 5
If you want an example of how geo-politics and big-oil can destroy - look no further. So very sad for the people who live there. A shining example of our "tax dollars" NOT at work for the people paying them, but being used for big business. As far as the excursion... our tour guide was a retired teacher and librarian who lived there for almost 40 years. It should have been great. Instead, however, the same couple that ruined the tour at St. John's made this one even worse ! NOTE: One word of advice when booking excursions - READ THE DAMN DETAILS ! ! ! ! That's why they tell you....

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
literally walked off, picked up our luggage, walked out... crossed the street, and was picked up by our driver. Seriously, it was just that simple ! Like I said, spoiled....

Same here. Husband had no interest in cruising, he just went with the flow and actually enjoyed himself. Instead of his usual “I didn’t want to do this” plus pout and sulk all week he looked happy and relaxed. Now he’s selling the RV so he can take me on more cruises.

Lol my husband was hesitant and hates water. We will be taking our 5th cruise soon. That says it all

That was me three years ago. My daughter begged us to go with her and her family. Eight cruises later I can't get enough 😋😋
