Review summary

The favorite part was the washy washy happy happy lady making sure everyone hands are clean. The cruise needs more than one pool and the worst part of all is the 1200 dollar pending charge that is withheld from my bank for days. I was told funds will be released in 5 business days, however that is not the case. We are still waiting to spend our money and it's been day 9. If I do not have my money back Monday morning, I will have to call guest relations and hold for 45 minutes to speak to a representative, and then hold an additional 30 minutes for a three way call to the bank. This waiting period is ridiculous and futile. We will never cruise again with Norwegian, hopefully they can rectify this situation tomorrow.

Disney is very effective in providing everybody a dose of masoquism, no toll free phone number is the first, then line for one hour for 3 minutes rides, inmense parking lots to enjoy looking for your car without an idea of where is it, etc, etc, If you want to suffer one day, Disney is your place.

@mareserene: "This is without mention the $$$$!!!prices"  That's right you better not.  That's because the last 10 cruise I took on the NCL GEM was 1/3 the price of a 7 day cruise with Disney.

Its been a long time since I ran my credit cards that close to the max.   Credit is a responsibility and needs to be properly respected.   This has nothing to do with the cruise ship. You took a $2-5k cruise, Even when I didn't have credit I had cash and/or traveler's checks to cover at least double that amount while away from home.

I read online that if u use cash it has to be 300 pp ... is that true??? we're just going to put a few hundred on a prepaid card to avoid all the holds on our actual accounts.

I always use cash down..And add as I need to..easier.

they warn you on the website against using a debit card. it kind of comes down to doing your due diligence ..

I don't ever remember having any credit card issues, but what I do know is using your debit card as your main source of setting up an account is the cause of lots of these troubles, your money can sometimes be held up for 30 days.

Better off using cash. They give you back the cash that you dont use after you close your account

The hold is the bank so I would call them not NCL.

Oh honey, I hope they release it soon. They withheld the ENTIRE amount of our cruise via separate charges AFTER charging the entire amount the day of disembarking. It took 9 days to remove. It was close to $5,500.00!! I was livid! But nothing was done. I will remember than when sailing with NCL again.🤔

I used to work in hotel management and we used to hear this complaint often. Unfortunately, once the hold is released by the company, the remaining hold time is dependent on the bank.

I just read on line that they hold $300 per person for cruises over 7 days but it reads that you can put down cash. I just emailed some to clarify this for me. It did also say that it could take up to 30 days to be put back in card otherwise. I am waiting to see what the rep. tells me.
