August Bermuda cruise by Galemol

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

No real adult pool pool area really crowded with lots of chair hogs. The cafe needs a lot of improvement. No srewards offering anything only bored cleaners with dry handiwpes half heatedly cleaning tables. Closet in cabin in a really stupid place stuck behind tge bed cabin 10736. No steward for the first day seems they are all too stretched out with duties.

Ship: Norwegian Escape

I just returned from my cruise last Sunday and let me tell you, words cannot day how great the ship was. This is by all means my favorite ship. The food was the best food I ever tasted, and every food imaginable was on it. The ship was so pretty. You couldn’t ask for better service. The entertainment was great. The slides were fun, although I was scared of the aqua loops. Lol! I loved the aqua racer and the yellow slide. The pools and hot tubs were nice. The lights over the ship were cool. Spice h20 was so gorgeous with that waterfall. I am regretting getting off the ship. Lol! I will definitely by going on that ship again, and I recommend that you go on the Norwegian Escape too.

I previously gave our recent cruise only 1 star and that's because of us being medically disembarked....but prior to the issue in the medical center we had a 5 star trip....the crew, the food, the accommodations were all outstanding ....I would love to return but my husband is not so sure...hope to convince him otherwise

Ship: Norwegian Escape

Pros: We had a great time on the Escape. Beautiful ship. Lots to do. Friendly and courteous staff that go above and beyond. Entertainment superb! Specialty restaurant food, amazing! Cons: too many things crammed in, felt a little crowded. Dining room food not good at all. Our neighbors smoking on balcony and banging/yelling all night (not ncl’s fault)that sucked a lot. 2 pools (1 adult) not enough for 4600 people. And no where to really go to have a little quiet time (except your room) Lounge chairs always gone

We cruised Norwegian escape from... by jenhanulewicz72

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We cruised Norwegian escape from New York City to Bermuda, seven days August 19, 2018 with my husband and 3 sons 15, 19 and 22. Starting with embarkation. Very smooth and organized. No problems with luggage. Absolute must is to book your specialty restaurants and entertainment before you go...as soon as its available on line. Dont wait. Otherwise it is very difficult to get in for parties greater than two. We ate at Cagney’s steakhouse and it was excellent. Moderno was incredible and La Cucina was good but if i were to do it again I would try Tepanyaki instead. Buffet was standard. I would not complain or brag about it. It was easily accessible and plenty of food to choose from. I really liked free style dining. Entertainment : We saw The brat pack , a couple of comedians and After Midnight. Excellent entertainment for all of us. Although This is the largest ship I have ever been on, I did not feel overcrowded. The only time people became an issue was poolside. I did not even try to get a seat by the pool. People start claiming their lounges at like 6am! Besides, the pool areas were so overcrowded it just didn’t seem like somewhere I wanted to be anyways. There were plenty of lounges on the upper decks. Bring a spray bottle to cool yourself down with. That’s all you need! Didn’t have any issues getting up to the bar poolside or inside. Bermuda: Was beautiful. Beaches are gorgeous. Horseshoe Beach was very scenic and popular because it had amenities such as lounge chairs umbrellas and a beach bar. Not too crowded to still get a decent spot on the beach. Elbow beach was less scenic and very quiet. Went to the Crystal caves which I highly recommend and lunched at the swizzle inn. Food was excellent and plentiful. We rented scooters in Hamilton to do the beaches. Unfortunately I was not coordinated enough to ride it. It was more like a mini motorcycle gas operated. I was hoping for battery operated. I had heard that many rental places now offer 4 wheel vehicles. That would have been more my speed. My husband and 19-year-old son were able to drive the scooter. We rented cycles from elbow beach cycles. The owner was great. They are mostly concerned with your safety and give a good amount of time for training. She fully refunded 2 of our scooters because we were on able to drive them. They will not allow anyone to rent if they do not do well in training. Lastly, disembarkation was the quickest I have ever experienced in my 4 cruises. We chose To get off the ship first thing in the morning and carried our own luggage . Will always do that! It was an excellent cruise All employees were very kind and accommodating.

Ship: Norwegian Escape

Let me just start by saying that the escape is the best ship ever. The food on her was amazing. The ship is so clean. There is not a speck of dust anywhere onboard. The ship is easily navigable. The pools and jacuzzis are just in perfect locations. This ship is like an amazing alternate reality that everyone must see. The show “Choir of Man” is the best show I’ve ever seen on any other cruise ship. I had an amazing time and made so many memories on this cruise. This was the closest I’ve been to having that “perfect vacation”

Amazing Ship! This was my... by Leenie313

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Amazing Ship! This was my second cruise and my first time to Bermuda, and I loved every second of it. I was there with a large party (18 people), but my husband and I don’t have any kids, so we took full advantage of everything the ship had to offer. Ship: 1. The ship is massive, but there are a lot of people, so it can still feel a bit congested at times, especially after dinner in the atrium. 2. The ship is so so clean. There are staff members everywhere picking up trash, cleaning the banisters, etc. Amazing! 3. There is so much to do. We went in the hot tub, tried the ropes course, played mini golf, checked out every bar (highly recommend the Wiki Rum Punch from Sugarcane on deck 8 and the Mango Meltdown at the pool bar), went on the water slides, and went to some shows. 4. The only down side I can think of is that there is only one pool. Well, two - one for kids and one for adults. And the pool is not that big. For a ship of that size with that many people, it should be much larger, or there should be another one. It was okay, though, because we discovered the hot tubs on the decks above, and it was much less crowded and very quiet. Stateroom: Our room was surprisingly large for the two of us. We had a midship balcony room on deck 11, so it was the perfect distance for us to walk down to the atrium on deck 6 or up to the pools and buffet on deck 16 if the elevators got a little crowded. The room was very clean and well-equipped with storage. Again, there were only two of us, so I could see how it would be tight for three or more, but that is to be expected for any cruise ship. Staff: The staff made this trip a truly memorable experience. From our cabin steward to the workers in the dining hall to the entertainers, there wasn’t a single person who wasn’t incredibly cordial and helpful. Kudos to the staff of the Escape - you guys are the best!!! Food: 1. Like any buffet, some items were hit or miss, but we could always find something we liked. 2. We had great experiences for breakfast and dinner at both Taste and the Manhattan Dining Room. On two nights, we went to dinner with our large party of 18. They were very accommodating, and the food was great. They did not make a single mistake with anyone’s order on either night. 3. I HIGHLY recommend Teppanyaki and Le Bistro. Teppanyaki is $30 per person, but it is a ton of food - soup and salad (both small, but still...), grilled veggies, tons of rice, main course (large portion), and dessert. Le Bistro was absolutely superb - our favorite meal of the entire trip. White glove service, outstanding food. We felt like royalty. And for two soups, an appetizer, two entrees, two desserts, and two coffees, we paid $70 WITH the tip. Super reasonable. Entertainment: 1. Pay the extra $20 a person, and GO SEE CHOIR OF MAN. Absolutely beautiful singing, really entertaining show, food and beer included. 2. The comedians were great. The woman who hosted was atrocious (we thought she was the act and almost got up and left), but then we realized that there was a headliner, so phew... 3. After Midnight was a pleasant surprise! Amazing singing and dancing - loved the tap dancing especially - and it was complimentary! Bermuda: 1. Snorkel Park Beach “Day at the Beach” was totally worth the $, especially if you have kids. There’s a lot to do, and there are bathrooms, a bar, and a place to eat right there. 2. We did not go to Horseshoe Bay. After doing the money math (transportation, renting beach chairs and maybe an umbrella, etc.), it would have cost us at least $70 to go see some pink sand. No thanks. 3. The Frog and Onion Pub - a little pricey, but excellent food and beer! 4. Hamilton was very cute with lots of shops, but they were all fairly expensive. 5. We went to a great place for lunch in Hamilton - The Devil’s Isle. Again, pricey, but one of the best meals we had during the trip. 6. Bermuda, in general, is expensive. They have the highest cost of living in the entire world, so be ready to spend a lot on souvenirs, food, rentals, etc. Overall, thank you so much to Norwegian and the staff of the Escape - we LOVED it!

Great Cruise by atee66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

As cruise ships go, the Escape is definitely one of the better ships sailing presently. The only issue I found was that mid ship between decks 6-8 reeked of cigarette smoke from the casino. Unfortunately, this area is the main part of the ship so it couldn’t be avoided. I have young kids and I really disliked the fact that they had to breathe second hand smoke.

It has taken a bit... by belovedkids3

Ship: Norwegian Escape

It has taken a bit for me to write a review on the Escape due to a death in my family on day 2 of our cruise. My husband flew out the day after we arrived in Bermuda. The staff were so kind and helpful I can’t thank them enough. We had an amazing time on the ship even with our situation. The staff were all friendly and amazingly nice. My favorite was in the morning when we were greeted at the Garden Cafe... washie... washie. I cannot stress how clean this ship is. Everywhere you go there are hand sanitizer pods. The staff also spray your hands when entering the cafe. If I had a complaint it would be curfew for underage kids. I jut felt that 1am was too late for them to run around mixing with intoxicated adults. I had an amazing time and will do it again soon!!!
