I gave this cruise a 3/5 star rating due to the fact that we did not stop at our 3rd stop (Nassau) due to an issue with the ships propulsion system. Norwegian only refunded $50/room for this inconvenience. I do not feel like this was an adequate refund due to the fact that we spent well over $4000 on this trip and that stop was one of three stops scheduled for the cruise. In other words it was a 1/3 of our vacation and $50 doesn't even come close to covering a 1/3 of our costs for the trip. Other than that I will say that the Norwegian Escape is a beautiful ship. The food was great, and the staff was wonderful. We did enjoy our time on the Norwegian Escape.

Let me start by saying this is our third 7-8 day cruise on NCL. The staff on this ship were very unhappy and not really nice. It kinda brought everyone's mood down the entire trip. It probably has to do with how large the ship is and how many people are on board that they have to deal with. We will not travel on a ship this large again. Also for Norwegian's newest ship it had mechanical problems so we couldn't port in the Bahamas and had to stay at sea which really sucked. 

The Norwegian Escape was terrible. It didn't deliver what it promised. We were promised 3 ports and only got 2 ports instead due to mechanical issues. The Escaoe is only a year old and having this kind of issues is not acceptable. Is Norwegian maintaining their boats properly? For the inconvenience they gave us a $50 onboard credit per stateroom which is insulting. We also had issues with the Mandara Spa, we got 2 couple massage session. For our first session the messed up and booked the massage as indiviso massage and not couples, they have to re-schedule our massage. With had another appointment at the Spa and we checked in and they called another person that arrived after us when we were already there waiting, they blamed their systems. It was not a good experience. We wanted time complaining instead of having a relax vacation. We had a problem with a shore excursion, the transportation provided was horrible, rusty bus with screws sticking out and gasoline fumes all the way.

The open dining,for our party of 9, never ended up being a longer wait than 10 minutes even with NO reservations as we don't like time constraints on a vacation!  The option of sitdown/menu dining at OSheehan's and Marquaritaville was a personal FAVE with our group and me and my husband never ate a the buffet or open Café one time. The entertainment crew and cruise director, Tyler, were the Best of the Best and their mission was to make EVERYONE have a good time and feel included...from young to old.  ALL of us were SO impressed with their energy and people skills!  We did have a problem with something on the ship and we were told that we couldn't make our stop in Nassau, Bahamas.  The captain announced it, the cruise director announced it again and then they wrote a letter for everyone explaining and gave all rooms a $50 credit for it and refunded excursions, if any.  Some people were all butt-hurt, but crap happens and our group did NOT think it was a huge deal and when we figured up the $50 credit times the number of cabins it was a good chunk of change that NCL gave back.  I don't think such an event can be held against NCL - it's about the REST of how they made you feel on your vacation....But you can never please everyone.  (lus, we have been to Bahamas before and it's a least favorite spot...so not a HUGE loss to us anyway. 

This is a beautiful ship with a crew that outdoes themselves, but in attempting to put as much on board as possible, they have created a situation where there are just too many people for a stress-free experience.  The Garden Cafe, which is open 24/7 has lines so long that by the time you circumvent the square setup and fill your plate your food is cold.  Lines are long for everything.  The atrium, which on the Pearl was large enough for people to engage in the audience participation, was smaller and people stood eight deep behind and alongside the chairs provided.  Positive points were that the crew was, as usual, happy and accommodating.  The steward for our cabin did a beautiful job and provided us with artistically hand-twisted towel animals each evening.  Our recommendation is to take a slightly smaller ship to avoid frustration and massive crowds at every event. 

Had a great time on Norwegian's Escape. Harry Muller's magic show, snorkeling at the baths in Tortola and of course the delicious food were my highlights. My only complaint was we stayed in a mini suite and could not use our balcony because our neighbors were smoking on theirs. 

My favorite part of this cruise was the music and entertainment. I would definately recommend this cruise to all of my family and friends. The food was delicious at Le Bistro, La Cucina, Moderno and Teppanyaki, It was hard to adjust back to work after this cruise since I had so much fun. Tyler Gray, Cruise Director was fabulous!

We had a real nice and relaxing cruise 

There was a few things that I was not happy with like not being allowed to bring water bottles on board, I have been travelling on NCL for quiet alot and the perks for return passanger is terrible compare to other lines (on other lines we get free internet minutes, free cocktails every evening etc. and able to bring my own water bottles) the evening entertainment was ok 

The H20 area was nice except for the movie screen had no movies all day they were advertizing Norweigian very boring would have been nice to see movies or concerts on the screen

Nassau was a very beautiful place. I wish we could have had more time to visit it.  The games on the ship were fantastic, when I got home my ribs were still hurting from laughing so hard!

This Cruise was very well prepared and well executed.

We love our cabin with the balcony. Food was amazing. Music was great, especially Port Royal Band. We'd like to have more Broadway style shows with open seating. We do not like the reservation system.

Overall it was a very good vacation.

The adult and kid activities were awesome. Always a ton of stuff to do every day. They kept you involved and up to date with activities. The food was great. We didn't do any of the live entertainment but heard from others it was awesome. 

Wonderful cruise for families. We have been on 24 cruises on various cruise lines.The food was bad;even in La Cucina [$127]! I am not sure if I would recommend NCL or not. We were seated in the Manhattan at 6:25 and were served our dessert at 7:55! DINING FOOD needs much improvement!

The efficient embarkation and disembarkation The choice items on the main dining room menu have a surcharge. Many of the desired menu items are only available in the extra charge dining rooms.

the food was excellent, best of any cruise i was on.   the rooms and bath room were of ample size.  the ship was kept clean, and members of the crew were pleasant and always helpful, shows were good and entertaining couldnt ask for anything more  thanks 

This cruise was to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday! We had such a great time! It was extra special because a friend of his and my parents (as a surprise) joined us. 

I booked a balcony room as a surprise for my husband and it was a definite hit! The room was wonderful! Very spacious - we loved being able to have fresh air any time we wanted! 

We had an awesome time at the ports! We did the Turtle Cove snorkeling tour in St. Thomas. This tour was good - the only negative thing I can say about it is that the group was way too big. In Tortola we went on the canopy zipline tour. That was a lot of fun - it was my first time so I was not sure about it. The tour afterward was very nice as well. We had sufficient time both days to go shopping after our shore excursions. 

Sea days are unfortunately not as fun for us. I would like to see more free activities such as movies or arts and crafts (not just origami). The cabin tv really needs more tv and movie channels (multiple sports and news channels but only one for tv and one for movies).

My husband and his friend really loved the water slides and the rope course on the ship. 

We have never cruised before and we were absolutely blown away by all that this ship has to offer and the AMAZING people who on the Escape. Everyone was so friendly and always offering to help or asking what they could do for us. We loved every minute we spent on the ship and had a blast with our room steward. Moneshu was awesome and made the trip that much better. Thank you to everyone on board for making this an amazing vacation that we WILL be doing again!

more movies...better TV stations...and menu need to change....it was my 1st cruise with you after going on 25 cruise with other cruise lines...your specialty dining was awesome and the liquor package couldn't be beat...but the other restaurants( taste savoy and Manhattan club menu never changed. and you didn't have anything on TV but your advertising.

Very nice ship. Staff were very accommodating. Plenty of options for dining. Clean. I enjoyed the studio suite, and look forward to the balcony option for my next cruise. Great ship for my 1st cruise. 

Entertainment overall was very good but the Oh What A Night tribute in the supper Club was special. Excellent main dining rooms with no delays whenever we ate.

Cabin was unassigned at booking with the guaranteed rate, yet the location we received could not have been better and very convenient to activities. Our ninth cruise, fourth on Norwegian, first time on a ship this large. Would definitely choose this again.
