Review summary

This cruise was rebooked from 2020. Me and my husband chose this to be a honeymoon. It was my first cruise and my husband's first cruise with NCL. We were so excited the week before and until we got on the ship and saw the ridiculous amount of children running around like savages. It was impossible to enjoy anytime during the day. Within this 7 days me and my husband got to enjoy the hot tub once and that was after 11:00 at night. We did not get to enjoy any of the shows due to overcrowding and people saving seats. We did not get to enjoy the sundeck due to so many people saving lounge chairs for friends and family and being in the same spot all day everyday. It was the same people we saw day in and day out in the same place. The only day we actually got to enjoy the sun deck and a good spot around the boat was the first day and the last day. We were told that this cruise was overbooked by almost a thousand people. I'm not sure how true that is but after seeing how many children were on this boat I can believe it. The kids were so obnoxious and unparented. I believe that the parents who did not watch their children on this cruise should be penalized... I was asked by a boy who was probably no older than my son to take off my top for $30. I am almost 40 years old. I was so angry. Our excursions were rushed by the people who took us to where we needed to go. Almost leaving us with no time to enjoy the sites that we may never get to see again. The great stirrups were taken from us as I hear it's not very common for them to actually ever stop at this island.... I guess it's because people spend more money on the boat than they do on their Island that day. And of course there's nothing else to do but spend money because you can't enjoy the things the ship has to offer. I will definitely never book a cruise during a holiday, a school break, or anytime children in this quantity is a possibility. The greatest part about being on this ship was that the crew never once gave you a hard time. The crew was fantastic and they are what made this vacation tolerable. But needless to say I will not be boarding the escape ever again.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Boring activities. I'm either too young or too old to enjoy

Sun Deck

1 out of 5

Could not enjoy. People saved seats and constantly the same people every day in the same spots.

Hot Tubs

1 out of 5

Made my eyes burn the ONE time we got in. Constantly filled with kids , even in the adult only lounge. Can't enjoy. They aren't pools and kids used them as little pools

Tradewinds Shops

2 out of 5

Expected a little more. Needed a convenience store for basic needs... definitely not there. Same deals even though the clerks said it was different every day. Waited too long to get the complimentary jewelry and nothing really interesting for alcohol. Don't expect to find hidden gems. No reason for so many watches and jewelry to be for sale... it was too predictable and nothing catches the eye

Escape Casino

5 out of 5

Typical casino

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Shows were way too cheesy. Not entertaining to me.

Video Arcade

2 out of 5

Half the machines didn't work. Customer service never reimbursed us for the games that took out money and didn't let us play. Typical games, nothing much to talk about

Headliners Comedy Club

5 out of 5

Exactly what I'd expect. Could be a little bigger

Escape Theater

2 out of 5

Shows were boring. Bar closes as soon as show starts. Seating sucks.... people sit right on top of you or won't move for you to get in or out.

Children's Programs

Left my kids at home ...LIKE SO MANY OTHERS SHOULD HAVE!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was fantastic.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship could use at least 2 more public pools and maybe 3 more hot tubs. Common areas were clean until teenagers and kids arrived.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
So much smaller than I expected. It was such a squish. No where to pack out clothes for 2 people. So loud through the walls and halls. Barely enough room to use the bathroom

Ship tip

Never book during a holiday or school break!!! It's the worst first experience on a cruise ever!!!!

Complete chaos! People push you out of the way, kids bump into you, easy to get hurt or loose your people.

Traveler Photos

People pushing people trying to get to back the ship. WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE BOOKED ON THIS SHIP. 5300 The manager over heard what we were celebrating
