Overall was a good time. Unfortunately we had waves that caused the ship to rock some on one of our days at sea and it caused my husband to be seasick. Just one of the hazards of cruising.
My husband is ready to go back so I guess he had a very good time! His first cruise, my fifteenth.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had paid for the priority boarding, so it was fairly quick and easy
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
My husband was a first time cruiser and he loved the Garden Buffet! This was the first time we did the specialty restaurant package and Cagney and Moderna steak houses were very good.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We really didn’t do much in the ship. We did see comedian, but we didn’t sit anywhere near the pool area because it’s just too crowded.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The comedian was good. We tried to book the entertainment right after we got onto the ship and the main show, Choir Men, was already booked up! We could have been put on the stand by list, but we didn’t bother.
We did go to movie night 2 nights. They put up the recliners, so you can’t lounge and watch the movie. I love it when Carnival serves popcorn!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our steward was nice, which is all we needed. When we went to customer service, they were always friendly and efficient. Waiters were always friendly.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was clean and the layout was fine. Definitely does get congested in the common areas, shops, etc.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The rooms were tight. Honestly a little smaller than some of my other cruises on different cruise lines. But, most people are not in the rooms that much and that was our case.
Ship tip
Book you speciality dinners and entertainment just as soon as you get on the ship!
Disembarkation was a little confusing. We did get a letter due to priority status which told us to meet at certain places before 7 if we were taking our bags off ourself. One of the staff personnel told us to go to the 8th floor, which that was incorrect. We ended up dragging our suitcases down to another set of elevators and found another group of people and got in that line. Ended up being ok, but there should have been more clear instructions.
Sorry to hear your hubby was seasick, we cruised on the Celebration, the original one and my friend was also sea sick. First time for her …..
I have tried to book shows online, and cannot do it …..it says we have to book on the ship. We plan on not going to the buffet, way too crowded as we have been told, and food is mediocre. Plenty of other restaurants that are complimentary.
We plan on staying away from the pool as we have heard nothing but bad reviews and over crowded. We sail March 25
Glad you enjoyed your cruise and I'm sorry your husband didn't feel well. We cruised on the Norwegian Breakaway in 2014 and had a good time. The one thing that was so horrible was the casino was on Deck 7 you had to run right through it or walk fast which I did. The next time you Cruise, book your shows online so this way you get everything that you want to see..the main shows the day and time as we did for our Norwegian Escape cruise that we are going to take in 3 days. We don't eat in the specialty restaurant and it's just not worth it. As far as paying priority boarding, I never heard of that about what Norwegian cruise line does for that.
On C days the pools are very crowded people save their seats they don't care and if it were to happen to them they wouldn't like it. It's really sad you know and people just get tired of it. All in all I'm glad that you had a fantastic time with your husband and I hope that he will be better next time when you cruise and not get sick.
