Review summary

This was our first NCL and we will definitely cruise with them again. Thank you for serving us and giving us a very memorable time with our family of 10. :)

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It went fast and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at The Manhatten each night and the food was hot and delicious! My only wish is that we could have had the same wait staff every night. We LOVE to sit at the same table and have the same staff to connect with each night.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the slides, the "kiddy" pool, mini golf, basketball court and the spa. We never did get on the ropes course due to the high winds which kind of bummed us out.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The saw the magician twice and the men's singing group and both were excellent!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were blown away by the staff from the waiters to the room stewards to the other men and women that served us this past week.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The pool was way too small for this big of a ship. The organization of the buffet seemed to be overcrowded and didn't flow the way it should. I missed not having more shopping stores on the ship. There were plenty of jewelry stores but I couldn't find anything "FUN" to buy for my grandchildren.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We wouldn't change a thing.

Ship tip

This was our first time on NCL. We have usually cruised Royal Carribean are we're pleasantly surprised how similar they are. I would definitely cruise NCL again.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion. It was just our starting and ending location.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

We were so disappointed that we didn't get to visit this port and instead sent us to the Nassua, Bahamas with 5 other ships. Totally CRAZY!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We went to Maegan's Bay and it was an OUTSTANDING day on the beach and playing in the ocean.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

3 out of 5
The day spent here was way too short that we couldn't plan a thing so we just got off, walked around the port and returned to the ship.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

1 out of 5
We couldn't go here either due to the winds. I think that NCL should either find another island to stop at or build a pier to pull up to as I have heard that there are many times that they have to skip this stop due to tendering in and weather.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Something happened......I am not sure what but the line to get off the ship is crazy long. I was forced to leave my family because of a credit that they had posted the night before disembarkation and I was told I couldn't leave without a zero balance. We even tried to go spend it the night before but the store lines were way too long and there wasn't much to buy. Our letter also said that it was a non refundable credit so I thought we would just skip it. NCL needs to allow passengers to get off the ship if they have a credit balance. It took us at least 1- 1/2 hours before our group of 10 could get back together. Another aspect was that it was really cold in Florida and my 3 grandchildren (1, 3 and 5) were standing outside waiting for me. Something needs to change with this process as there were MANY angry and upset passengers.
