This was our first cruise on an NCL ship, though it started out roughly with the embarkation and how things are different from cruising with RCCL, we will probably be willing to cruise with NCL if they offer a cruise that interest us. We talked with multiple people that cruise with NCL on a regular basis and they too felt that how things on the Escape were handled were not comparable to other cruises on NCL ships. Overall, it was enjoyable cruise, seeing New England & Canada in the fall is something spectacular just don't plan on using the pool or other outdoor amenities because it might just be chilly
Embarkation
1 out of 5
This was the worse experince of a lifetime. There were so many problems with how people were being allowed to get registered, i feel the biggest issue was the people handling the lines were not insync with one another. it took us over 2.5 hours to get registered and onboard. We have done 4 other cruises and have never seen this much chaos
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room food was average, out of the three specialty restaurants we visited two were awesome and one was just a bit above average and the buffet was totally bland and it seemed the food catered more to one nationality then others.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The only onboard activity we were able to do was the fitness center and it was nice
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows we visited were good and the performers definitely were talented
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service & Staff did a good job. Our room steward was on top of everything was very attentive to our needs. For rest of the ship personnel in my opinion they really were not that sociable like we have experienced in past cruises..
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was well maintained and very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was very nice and organized - nice large bathroom
Coastal Drive to Peggy's Cove - again the tour guide did an awesome job talking about Halifax, the Titanic and the view at the lighthouse was quite memorable.
We did the Acadia National Park & Lobster Bake - this tour was excellent too driving through the park and seeing the countries beauty, the only downside was you are limited to the amount of time that a tour bus can stop in the park. The lobster was awesome and the little town of Bar Harbor was fun to tour
We did the Best of Portland and Kennebunkport - another awesome tour where the guide was very informative. If you are hungry when you get to Kennebunkport you have to eat at the Pilot House and have the lobster roll and chowder.
