We enjoyed for the most part the cruise, however, we started to get charged for somethings that were not explained. Not sure we will cruise with Norwegian again

WE had breakfast in our cabin, which was delivered within the time we had requested. Lunch options were extensive so lots of choices. We had dinner every night except the last night at The Manhatten Room. Food was excellent, waitstaff friendly, but it seemed almost like a forced friendliness.
Onboard Activities

Found the main pool area too loud. The entertainment team did need to have the music up as loud as it was. One of the speakers sounded like it had blown. We found even at the Spice 2 o was only a little better.
Entertainment
We never got to see any of the shows as they were always sold out. It seemed like people were choosing everything and then picking the ones they wanted to see at a later date, which meant you had to wait in the stand-by line. We did not pay to stand in line for a show.

Our children are adults and were not along.

Starting with our Room Stewart, Joy. We arrived back at our cabin only to find she had decorated our room for our Anniversary! It was a wonderful surprise, along with a bottle of Champagne!!! We had Layda in the Manhatten Room as our waiter for most of the time. Very friendly. By night 2 she knew what our likes were and tried to have them ready when we sat down.

Our biggest complaint was deck 7 where the casino is. I could not walk through there because of the lingering smell of cigarette smoke. I wish there had been a couple of places where you could just sit and enjoy some quiet.

It was all that we could have asked for.
Ship tip
The one tip I would give someone about to sail is be prepared for the 18% gratuity on EVERYTHING and the $14 per day per person. These two things got really annoying really fast! So factor in these additional costs.
I would like to know as well what you were charged for that wasn't explained... NCL clearly explains gratuities... Room service up charge except for breakfast... Charge at casino to use your card. What else would there be ?
