Review summary

I was on the Norwegian Escape 7 night Eastern Caribbean. There was so much stuff to do on the ship that i didn't get to everything, The food and dinning shows on the ship were good. The only thing I didn't like is that they would turn my key card off if didn't have money on it. I had the unlimited drink package and it got old quick. when i would have to leave the bars or dinner to fix or put money on my account. a simple message to my room would have been a better way to do this, I even had a card on file to pull money from and it still would happened. but other than that it was a great time and I can't wait till next year when we are going for a cruise again.

I believe cash is better than a debit card, banks will flag if they think the account is possibly comprised. I had something similar happen because of all the large holds and small purchases while at an out-of-state resort. I call the bank ahead of time now.

my daughter put cash on her account several times...she was afraid she would go over her budget. She never had a problem either...she knew how much was on the account.

Some people don't have credit cards

misspunkyb    7 years ago

our room has 3 separate individuals linked to one account. no one was questioned once. my son bought everything he wanted. no questions....

I agree...I never had issues. I was trying to understand what she did....

maybe I am clueless but why not just us a regular credit card and be done with it? Why bother with debit? Just pay off the card when you get home. Besides, credit is always a safer bet than debit linked to your checking acct. also, I don't still understand the original poster's problem. first of all if you have the drink package, why would you even have to worry about money being available? everything should have been paid for upfront. Even if that is not the case, why would you keep running out of funds? Are you just putting on like only 5 bucks each time you reactivate your card?

maybe you were too drunk to understand?! 😃. jk...but I intend to be....so I hope this dont happen to me.

yes, I'm confused about this. unless you put a cap on the usage...for example...I have $25 on this card...it runs out?! what were you paying for? unlimited drink package is free...and taxes should already be paid on that. well mine is anyways....tip would be the only thing.

if you have the unlimited beverage package and don't buy anything else. why would you need to add funds

If you had unlimited drink package what got old fast? Paying with unlimited?....

doesn't make sense. they make you link your credit card to your cruise card. never heard of such a problem

The best no stress card is American Express. Never had them hassle me like that.

This happened to my Aunt, but she used a Visa Debit instead of a plan Visa card. Visa/Debits are tied to your balance. They sent her a message to come to Guest Services.
