Review summary

This was my third trip on a Norwegian Ship,  Bigger is not better.  The ship was beautiful, except for the Philippian crew members I found the rest to be disinterested.  Food was good, ate in one of the restaurants each night with nice dinner music, then one night a group of about 8 screamed and shouted songs so loud it was all I could do to sit and listen.  if not for others in our group I would have left my dinner and gone elsewhere.  One show with a comic juggler was fantastic, another called the Brat Pack was terrible,  extremely loud.  I'm no prude, but why do we have to listen to the "F" bomb with our entertainment.

Norwegian use to be a grate trip with seniors in mind, I now feel they want to attract the younger drinking  crowd.  Free entertainment consisted of Trivia games, cupcake decorating, towel folding, fruit carving,  Others had to be paid for, Bingo etc.  I felt the cruise line was doing all they could to dig into my pockets.

If you wanted to use the pool you had better be up there before 9 in the morning, otherwise the drinking crowd lines the edges of the pool with drink in hand.  and of course the music level is at it's height.  My old employer would not have let me into an area like that with out ear protection, let alone sit all day.  when did they decide that louder was better?

More than likely my last cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Enjoyed most of the free style dining, except when one group came in for music, was loud and terrible, diner music is suppose to be calm and in the background

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
a lot of activities were there to collect more cash, isn't the casino enough?

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The Brat Pack group was terrible, We left after about 10 minutes, and had to keep fingers in ears to tolerate that, why so loud, is it to hide bad talent? The juggler was fantastic. And unless you sign up early, most shows are full up.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most all of the crew from the Philippians were great and fun to talk with, others seemed they could care less

Ship Quality

Stay on board, enjoy the lack of a crowd

Tortola, British Virgin Islands Did not visit port

Stay on board and enjoy it while most of the tourist have gone ashore

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

not worth going ashore, how many diamond and watch shops can you see, and most of the local trinket shops are crap. and all the same

So sorry for your experience. My wife and I were on the Escape last year. I was 61 years old and loved every minute. We both loved the show you disliked. We both have watched almost every John Hughes movie that was portrayed. The crowd did trend younger but we didn't mind. I am only posting this because different folks, even older ones, might have different opinions.
