Review summary

very disappointing cruise. This is my third cruise with Norwegian and I can say that I was not impressed.  Even though the ship was new and in excellent condition I found that the need to make money by Norwegian putting too many people on one ship. Waiting in line at the buffet, Waiting in line for shows, having to book  Times to go see shows I found it to be extremely annoying. Ate at all the restaurants ordered food from the menu one where there was a premium pay for a specialty dish, I ordered lobster it was dry and  overcooked. I found the waiter and waitress service is to be extremely poor. Had a big concern for the sanitation while on the ship even though the waiters and waitresses had spray bottle bass sprayed no one's hands to enter the buffet the buffet was a major link to difference

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Burnt dry lobster!!! Staff rude!! Seating hostesses at Restaurants Taste, Savor and O Sheehan were just rude!! Setting the tone!! Good was ok!! Buffet same menu

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Overcrowding overcrowding overcrowding!!!!! Bingo to expensive for 3 games!! Not enjoyable activities. Pools overcrowding was an issue!!

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Best show ever was After Dark! Overcrowding is the issue. Free style but have to book show seating??? Game shows overcrowding, no seating because of overcrowding!!

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Buffet, Savor, O Sheehan and Taste dining room staff appeared to be professional but were NOT!! Rude and arrogant are the best way to describe. The Door Host at all dining rooms were TERRIBLE!!! Rude rude rude!!! Cabinet staff excellent!!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Design was not good. Overcrowding. Walking thru buffet from the pool not sanitary. Theatre was to small. Social gathering area to small. Again overcrowding is biggest issue.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect size and design.

Ship tip

Must love crowds. Be prepared for rude staff and rude people. Not very sanitary.

Just got off the Escape and loved it. You didn't see Washy Washy guy?? There is hand sanitizer stations as you enter the buffet as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how little waiting there was for a ship this size. Found the food to be very good. Great staff and ship

If you see everything as a negative, that is exactly what you will get.  Sounds like you should have booked the havens.  Glad I didn't bump into you.  Good luck on the next your next cruise line.

I was on this ship two weeks ago, beautiful ship but definitely overcrowded! First and last time cruising with Norwegian, was not impressed! To each it's own! Everyone is entitled to their opinion!

I gave my experience on this ship!!  I have cruised many times and I shared my experience on this "mega" ship!  I won't go on this ship again nor share MY experience!!!  You people need to read the question again!!  Share your experience!!!

They didn't put too many people on the ship to make more money. They have plenty of ways to make money everywhere else. They put that many on it because it's built for just that. That many. Its a Mega Ship. Everyone else is right, you may want to stick to something a little smaller.

When taking a cruise on a ship that holds 4,200 people, you're going to run into lines. Additionally, you can book the shows online ahead of time as much as 90 days from your sailing. My advice to you is stick to the small ships.

Please don't let the opinions of others make a decision for you. It's just that (one persons opinion). Not everyone is going to have as great a time as the next person may.  You really do get out of it what you put in. If you let the fact that there are a LOT of people on the ship determine whether or not YOU will have a good time then maybe cruising on a large capacity ship is not the one for you, try a smaller more intimate ship.  Yes there a lines for some things but everything really does move very quickly. I was on this same cruise at the same time as vanth357 and we had the time of our lives...read my review.  ENJOY your time on Norwegian Escape!

On Disney ships you have to take a sanitizer wipe before entering all food establishments. I am so worried about this ship lol I should have never booked it. Hopefully it's not as bad as everyone is saying.

On other NCL boats they spray your hands with sanitizer as you walk through the doors to buffets. It's just a way to stay on top of the possibilities of spreading norovirus.

You wanted them to spray your hands with a spray bottle as you entered the buffet? Not sure I'm understanding...
