Never again! The ship is too big and they can not accommodate the passengers.

Review summary

I will never go on Norwegian again. The service was horrible, there are just so many passengers they can't accommodate them all and still be happy. After working all day the staff then works all night and they are especially miserable at night. Never in my 9 cruises have I had to leave the dining room without dessert because no one ever came back to take our order, and this happened twice!!!! They give everyone the free drink pkg and then only have 2 bartenders on the busiest bar on the ship (pool bar). No one walking around taking drink orders. We bought the restaurant pkg as well and couldn't even get in to try one of the restaurants because there was never any reservations. If you wanna see a show you have to make a reservation, if you want to see a comedian you have to make a reservation and if you want to see a show thats not in the theater you need to go an hr early or you won't get a seat. They have shows that everyone loves in the small atrium. Make sure you go for breakfast before everyone wakes up or you won't get a seat. The food was good, and the casino was huge! Other than that not worth any of the aggravation. The service is what did us in and all the poor attitudes.

Ship experiences

Onboard Activities

The waterslides are cool to keep the kids busy.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The main comedian was ok but his presenters were awful. The show after midnight was awesome.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
If you do not go to the orientation on the first day they will not let you in to view where your child will be. We wanted to make sure our daughter would be ok and settle her in and they told us we were not allowed in the childrens area and would not even let us see it!

Service and Staff

The staff were miserable and over worked!

I had waiters coming by every time I sat in the sun from morning on to see if I wanted something. It didn't matter what deck I was on. And if I didn't see them... I got my own and had no problems getting served. Tip your bartenders from day one and they won't forget you. It doesn't take much but a friendly gesture and a friendly face and attitude goes a long way. You're on vacation.... Relax and enjoy

we had no problems getting drinks there were people on a regular basis walking around taking drink orders....and agree totally if u gotta go get your own drink....who cares

And I know lots of folks keep saying no one was walking around taking drink orders at the pool or other places...I've been on smaller ships that weren't at capacity and this didn't happen either...however, I didn't expect it either. Walking up to the bar to get a drink is easy...if that's the hardest thing I have to do, it's a good day. ;)

I agree, do your homework and you won't have any surprises, book shows and dinners ahead of time...even on smaller ships I book what I can ahead of time so I can step on ship and just enjoy the cruise!!

My assumption is that you wanted to go to dinner during peak hours. Have you never made a reservation at home and still had to wait for your table to become available? I too will suggest you stick with a smaller ship that would accommodate your problems. Do your homework before getting on a ship or leaving your residence for that matter. It seems as if you are not pleased with anything very easily. Just my assumption of this thread, though.

just got off the escape last week....never once felt crowded...ate breakfast at buffet every morning....and plenty of seating ...never had a problem finding a seat....hello u can reserve stuff right from your state room on your tv...if you can't take that on yourself that's all on you....I've been on 7 ncl cruises and this was the best one....there were 4 of us and walked into restaurants each night....if it's to much to reserve a seat for shows....well maybe you should rethink your vacations from now on....if u go to a local beach do you make reservation or just walk up and take your chances? guessing prolly a lil bit of both...you gotta still be responsible either way

With a passenger capacity of over 4000 people I would think reservations would be a must. Try a smaller ship the next time and you should be pleased.
