Review summary

Too big for our taste.

People got up at 6 am in order to to reserve a deck chair, by leaving a towel or a book on it.

Impossible to move sometimes on the deck.

Pool was much too small for that amount of people.

Infants, toddlers, children and adults all in the hot tubs together. Disgusting.

Lines to get food.

Lines to get drinks.

Buffet food average.

Attendant leaning over my plate as I was eating in order to replenish cutlery container.

Slowwwww, elevators.

Itinary showed reservation that was for the previous night.

Sat for almost two hours in holding pen to get on the ship.

Discovered on Thursday that there was, for $100 a week, a private area away from the crowds and noise. This would have made all the difference.

Woke up by tables and chairs being moved around very late at night. We were on 15th floor.

At one point, checked flights home, just to get off this ship.

Just got off Fantastic ship,Awesome hard working staff,Food was great and I never waited more than 1 min for elevators..I think some people just fond reasons to complain...relax ur on vacation

massicae    8 years ago

it's called Vibe beach club .

cruisincouple06    8 years ago

Then they should have ran up the stairs if they were in a hurry...hahaha betting they never considered using the stairs

The elevators were too slow?? Come on, if THAT is what you are complaining about than you must be very hard to please. Did you have somewhere to be??? Relax, you are on vacation. I just got off the Escape 4 hours ago, and came on with a open mind and have absolutely NO bad comments!

Wish I could afford Haven! ! :)

cwills1telusnet    8 years ago

Do your research before you book. Want a more personal experience book a smaller ship. Pay alittle more for the haven, well worth the price .

It's a special area of ship with loungers and a bar....no kids ..only people with pass can get in..I heard like only 100 people get, if not less...but u will never get it if not first 25 on board....I hear only suite owners get them all cause first on ship and they sell out in seconds according to all the other boards and forums. Sorry

I'm a newbie...what is the $100 a week for a private area away from the crowds?

huntersh2    8 years ago

Can't wait. Woo hoo

Loves the Escape! Didn't experience any of these problems at all.

Martinp7    8 years ago

It's all in what you make of the experience....

cruisincouple06    8 years ago

So,did we....people find anything to complain about....prolly even If the ice cream,is to cold

Martinp7    8 years ago

We had a great time on the Escape...

Complaints like these are typically from tourists who lack creative thinking and lack of improvising. That's very sad cause it's really expensive to go on a cruise like this only to find yourself griping about your entire experience. Attitude is EVERYTHING! Try having a good attitude next time and you'll find a whole new world of exciting cruise experiences 😊

If they were on upper deck wouldn't they walk downhill to get to most of the food?. Problem is getting back but elevators never close so why not get a drink or wait. Maybe they can get a pool attendant to put them on a towel cart and take them home in the steward elevator.

cruisincouple06    8 years ago

I have never seen or heard anyone complain that the stairs took to long or were over crowded

fun4us2013    8 years ago

People won't walk to the food. Imagine that

cruisincouple06    8 years ago

Elevators were to slow....REALLY??? Hello take the stairs, how fast were they

cruisincouple06    8 years ago

AMEN...LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN....AMEN

I agree First time cruiser. If you go to Vegas you deal with the smoke. If you go to Disney during a holiday you deal with the crowds. How about Sundays Daytona 500. Think those people were shocked about the lines at the restrooms? These ships are big enough to find a place to enjoy.

nickman684....way too funny....Looks like they were just looking for things to complain about.....Meow.....

What was ur room number just curious- I'm going on the escape in 19 days and have a room on deck 15

CrusinTim    8 years ago

There is no cabin "1520". All cabins are 5 digits long. Can't tell what was above you. If you were in cabin "15820", the Garden Cafe was directly above you.

nickman684    8 years ago

Sorry, all I got out of that was, children and adults in the tub, "disgusting". Do us all a favor and next time stay home with your cats.

tell the pool staff. they are not allowed to reserve chairs like that. If a chair isn't used within 45 minutes, the towel can be removed and they get it from the fresh towel stand.

Sounds like a rookie cruiser....escape was my 7th ncl ship and best so far...our room was 15264 right under the buffet and not one time did we hear chairs moving above us....far as getting a sun chair ...not sure where you were having a problem finding one not 1 day did we have an issue (we weren't by the pool also so can't say if it was an issue there) ate breakfast every morning in buffet and didn't have a problem....sounds like some home work prior to going would have been the answer so if you are a new cruiser chalk it up to a learning experience , but also you need to realize there were over 4000 people on board....you won't have the ship to yourself

selinanew    8 years ago

That sounds truly unpleasant. No one likes being woken up!

bridget1    8 years ago

sounds like everyone was just enjoying themselves, take time to enjoy yourself you are on a cruise you make it what you want, just have fun

Are you a first time cruiser or just didn't do your homework?
