Review summary

I would totally book the Epic again. Fun cruise for the family!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Super easy, they checked documents and went through security in less than 10 minutes. Had 10am check in time so we had to wait until 11:30 to board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Went to a few different places onboard, but I mainly ate at the buffet. All had great food, but we waited around 35 minutes for food at O’Sheehan’s.

Teppanyaki

5 out of 5

Fun venue, the cooks were great and really put on a show. Food was also really good.

O'Sheehans Neighborhood Bar and Grill

4 out of 5

Good food, always a seat, but food took 45 minutes at one point.

Garden Cafe

5 out of 5

Great food, most days there was a seat available, but they also had seating available at La Cuchina during breakfast and lunch.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Wasn’t able to do things such as the pool, slides, or rock climbing wall due to some weather along the way, but everything else was fun.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Went to a few shows, such as the magic show and karaoke. The magician/comedian was hilarious and his tricks were great as well. Karaoke was fun, but if you have kids who want to sing, they do have 18+ karaoke sessions.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5

Video Arcade

5 out of 5

Had lots of fun games, but if you plan on being there close to every day, buy the arcade package for $175 because the games can add up.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always very friendly, they were great with every question I had.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was easy to navigate, and someone was always cleaning, but there are some parts of the ship that show its age. Wasn’t that big of a problem though.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Was a good room for a week. Only complaint is the bathroom. When you walk into the room you’re in the bathroom and the only thing separating the bedroom and bathroom is a curtain, but I never really had a problem. Glass for the shower and toilet are frosted, so it’s not completely transparent or opaque.

Ship tip

Don’t listen to every bad review. Yes, some things may be true such as the long drink lines, but they set up drink stands to help with the lines. I never saw a true problem that made me not like the cruise.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Nicest embarkation port I’ve been to. Had nice waiting room and easy embarkation.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Lots of shopping at the port. Went to a few places

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

4 out of 5
Had free food and was able to use drink package. Beaches were nice too. Tendering took 30 minutes to get back onto the boat

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Nice port went to see some ruins and then went back to ship. I was not used to humidity.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Went on coconut cove shore excursion and had a blast. Weather got in the way a little bit but still had fun

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easiest disembarkation I’ve ever done. Had to scan card on the ship and then wait in the terminal to do immigration. Took no more than 30 minutes.
