Review summary

Very disappointed. No offer of compensation for the missed port. However they still let excursions go in Jamaica that were awful due to water conditions. Specifically the catamaran and snorkeling excursion. Couldn’t even see anything because we had to swim so hard not to get swept away. Nickel and dimed everything. Threatened to charge $25 for pool towels. Had to check them out. Over cramped ship. Adult area in daytime had no music and big screen only showed basketball and soccer.

Crowded and awkward.

Cabin / Stateroom

No separate bathroom, just sliding glass doors on shower and toilet. Sink in living space. Balcony separation panels constantly banged. Had to stuff paper in between to stop the noise.

Very little information was given to us. We tried to get more information by calling while on the ship and we didn’t get any help.

It’s not unusual for cruise lines to keep track of pool towels. They do tend to disappear. I’d also love to know which cruise lines reimburse you for missed ports, I’ve yet to find one. They have no requirement to, if it’s that important you can buy travel insurance that does. They typically will give you credit for any port fees, which are normally around $15 per person and gets credited to your onboard account.

We have always had a great experience on Ncl. Sorry you did not. I have not felt nickled, and dimed on ncl. Royal is the cruiseline, we normally have issues with extra expenses. Isn't it great that each cruise line does things differently. That way, we each can find the cruise line that meets our needs and budget.

Pretty clear to me, the issue here is the cruiser (passenger) not the ship or cruise line. Sound so, so bitter and uninformed.

You check your pool towels out against your room then you return them when you’re done, and every time you need one you get a fresh towel. To deter people from stealing them, if you don’t return them they charge you. It’s been that way for a while now with NCL and it’s not that difficult! Hope your future cruises are better!

Another person who failed to do research and read their cruise contract. YOU let a couple of setbacks or hiccups ruin your cruise, not NCL. If you are going to be that upset to something that is out of NCL's hands, then land based resorts should be your future option

NCL sucked in our opinion. We had nothing but issues when we cruised with them a couple years ago. Never again, we will stick with royal caribbean going forward!
