You know it's bad when the parking lot attendants are asking everyone on disembarkation day how their cruise was and then saying, " we've been hearing a lot of bad things about the Epic and NCL". So no, it's not just a few people with bad attitudes who didn't do enough research.

If the cabin was too small, next time book a suite! Too many people? It was clearly printed how many people the ship holds when you booked!
