Don't sail on the Epic. Layout the worst. We are veteran cruisers and will never sail on this ship again. Cagney's was good but the main dining room selections were not the best. Buffet had limited selections. Breakfast was the best meal.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Crowded but we were there at prime time. Wait until after 12;00 noon to embark.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food's quality and selection were substandard. Quality and selection have declined since Covid.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Although we did not use the climbing wall or fitness center, games such as Deal or No Deal were held in the atrium rather than the theater. This cause many people to have to sit on the floor because there were no seats available. Better planning needs to be done.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The Beatles and the Mentalist were good. Although the performers in Burn the Floor were very talented, the actual show was not interesting to us.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Did not have children. You need to put NA as a selection.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Since Covid, NCL requires service staff to do more than normal due to reduced staff. This causes lower quality and timeliness of service, which is not the service staff's problem.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The Epic is the worse ship we have been on. We've sailed on about 40-50 cruises so we are not new cruisers. The rooms are small. A few balcony rooms are miscategorized. We paid for an unobstructed balcony. did not know the room we were assigned was obstructed. It was a deep cove balcony so you could not see the ocean unless you walked up to the wall. NCL misrepresented this room.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
Terrible. Paid for unobstructed and this room was definitely obstructed. You could not see the ocean unless you walked up to the metal wall. You were surrounded with steel except for a small cove opening.
Did not leave the ship due to the ship having to anchor at a different location. This caused visitors to have to pay for transportation to get into town. This was a tender port.
