Enjoyed several ports, cruise was average at best.
Embarkation

No issues, honestly smoother than other cruises we have been on.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Main Dining Room: this ship only has Taste and the Manhattan Room for main dining rooms and Taste was closed our entire cruise. So we were forced to eat at the Manhattan Room for our main dining room. We ate here once for breakfast and twice for dinner and it was a poor experience each time. For breakfast, it took over 45 minutes to get our food and most of it wasn’t warm anymore. For dinner, I wanted the New York Strip but the server strongly recommended I get the steak skewers instead. I should have trusted my gut because the skewers were not good at all. I ordered French onion soup, and as you can see from the picture, it was a joke…
Speciality Dining: we were to Cagney’s 3
times and Le Bistro once and all these experiences were great. I chose to pay out of pocket to eat here rather than the Manhattan Room or the buffet.
Buffet: The buffet is where we typically gain our weight on cruises cause the food is usually great, but unfortunately this was not the case on the Epic. Every time we went up to the buffet, it was barely opened it seemed. There was only a couple sections open and you can tell the food had been sitting for a while. One time I tried to play it safe with a hotdog but the bun was so hard and stale that it broke in half…
Very poor experience related to food on the Epic.
And I don’t know how to say this without sounding like an alcoholic but the drinks are sooo watered down, it’s actually shocking! At home, I hardly ever drink so I typically feel it
after 1-2 drinks. On the epic, I was routinely drinking 5-7 drinks a night and never felt even a bit tipsy. But when we were at port, I would get a drink with lunch and I would feel that. My boyfriend felt the same way! He didn’t feel a single thing until the last day of the cruise when he started ordering beers instead of drinks from the bar.
Onboard Activities

My boyfriend used the fitness center and felt it was fair.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We saw Pricilla Queen of the Desert and that was a great show!! We went to Howl at the Moon and it was alright, not the best dueling pianos show I have seen on a cruise but it was good. We were disappointed to find out they had no comedian doing shows. We typically enjoy those shows a lot.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Waiters, room stewards, and all the ship personnel that we interacted with were all helpful and pleasant.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship in general seemed clean and well maintained. The only area that showed major wear and tear was the balconies, lots of them were rusted over and just overall filthy.
Cabin / Stateroom

Had lots of storage and closet space. We were actually surprised with how much storage space there was and it allowed us to stay organized for our 7 days on board.
Ship tip
Explore the specialty dining options because they are much better than the main dining room and buffet. I highly recommend getting beer and wine instead of bar drinks since they are very watered down.
We did our own Tapas food tour and that was an enjoyable experience. The city was the most “sketchy” out of all the cities we visited in Europe so pay attention and be alert.
We spent 3 days in Rome prior to our cruise and it was definitely worth it. The city is so rich with history and culture. Make sure you plan for traffic.
Thnx for the review. We totally agree about the drinks. We visited Cannes a few times but this time (April 2022) there was a lot of construction work going on and it looked not as nice as before.
