Epic disappointment. Won’t do Norwegian again. We will go back to Royal Caribbean. So much better and greater value. We know we will have a great experience on RCCL.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Meh. No welcome aboard at embarkation. Fairly painless.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Same old slop in the cafe every day. Lots of filler carbs- fried rice, potatoes, pasta. Fried and breaded fish and chicken. Leather roast. Yuk.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Not much to do unless you pay. Most activities had a fee. Poor live music — all Latino. No reggae.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Burn the Floor was great. Dan Bennet comedian show was funny. Cirque was a few so we didn’t go. Never heard of having to reserve a seat and pay for onboard entertainment. Thought we were “free at sea.” Guess it’s a marketing ploy.

Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Staff was tired, overworked and unfriendly. Cabin steward rarely serviced our cabin. Had to request room tidying.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Salt all over the balcony and glass. Never cleaned once. Overall ship was dirty— railings never wiped down. Smudges abound on surfaces.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very narrow and bizarre enclosed toilet with no ventilation hair dryer under desk and cord would only extend so far. Not a great cabin design overall.
Horrible excursion Island Splendor. On the shuttle for 4 hours. Highlighted stops were lame. Island is dirty and lots of poverty. It’s really changed since we were there 4 years ago.
We were on this same cruise and have many of the same sentiments. Our Carnival cruises and Royal Caribbean cruise were so much better. The room steward we had was awful and we do not have high expectations. We came back after the cabin was turned down and we had no more bath towels. Our fridge was not cold at all and was told by him it was working fine. We happened to walk by guest services the next day and inquired about the fridge and they said of course it should be cold. They replaced the fridge and what do you know...cold beverages! The ship itself is lacking in comparison to our previous cruise ships we’ve journeyed on. No wow factor whatsoever. We’ll be sticking with Royal Caribbean and Carnival on future cruises. Lastly...we still had a very nice time!
I took one NCL to Europe thought it was a bargain, food not so good. Took another two years ago and 5 of us were disappointed with the food that we said never again and it was a super loud ship (blasting music even in hallways). My travel agent sent 6 of us on Celebrity and 6 weeks later we are still talking about how FABULOUS it was! Food was OUTSTANDING!
