Review summary

Ship is older, has been refurbed but still older. Our room was a mini-sweet very unuser friendly with a split bathroom, hard to reach cabinet doors. I don't think their is much of a difference between a mini- sweet and a balcony other than which floor. This was our second cruise with Norwegian, !st was on the Getaway in 2015 it was brand new. I thought the overall experience on the getaway was much better. We had waiters asking us for drinks every 20 minutes on the getaway. Never had one ask on the epic, had to get them myself. Also the cruise director and crew much more energetic on the getaway. I thought the ship had a rockier ride than the getaway. Loved the islands.

Ship Quality

ship was clean, never changed the bed. only made it and changed towels. room was very hard to get comfortable in, bad design. I don't no how you could get 3-4 people in their comfortably.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Bad design. I was told the French designer was fired for this. To squeezy, the bed was short, legs were hanging off. tough to get comfortable. Doors above bed, you could lose things, very deep and hard to see into.

Ship tip

If I could do it again, I would go on a newer boat, either the getaway, breakaway, or escape. I'm waiting for the next to come out in 2018 before I cruise again.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
went to an all inclusive resort for the day. Had a great time

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
rented scooters for the day, went to seven mile beach for a while. It was the warmest, bluest, clearest and cleanest of all the beaches, we've been to. Had a great time

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
went to and all inclusive had a good time, had to deal with people screaming over the fence trying to sell us sometime.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
again had a good time, not much to do other than eat, drink and swim.

Mermaid4, yes that is correct. I usually take cash for tipping. Alot of people say they don't have to tip because you're already paying a gratuity ahead of time. I kind of agree but considering the hours these people work it's just not enough. They work12+ hours every day. So giving them a little extra cash on the side will keep them happy and they appreciate it and would take care of you every time they see you. Thats been my experience for the most part.

please don't take offense to this, but did you tip the staff at the very first? I am a newbie and people always say, if u tip right off the bat they make sure you had drinks. I've been wondering if that works out better

Ya the epic was built in 2010? That's not old?

I'm no fan of the epic but I wouldn't call her old. I think she's less than 10 years old. too crowded but still fun
