Review summary

My wife and I went on this cruise with another couple and had a nice, relaxing time!  We arrived before 12:00 pm and had to wait about 30 minutes to get through security and get checked in.  We booked a couples massage the first day and really enjoyed that.  The spa staff were really nice.  We also booked a day pass at the thermal spa and enjoyed the peace and quiet of that area.  Again, the spa staff were terrific.  Other staff areas, housekeeping, waiters, etc, were friendly and went out of their way to make your vacation enjoyable.  There was only one bartender who couldn't keep up with who was next and I ended up walking away from that bar.

The food in the specialty dining rooms was fantastic, you never left hungry.  The breakfast was great in the dining room as well.  Food on the buffet was good but not great.  Seemed to be a lot of people always around the buffet.  Didn't enjoy those times.

The dueling piano and comedy shows were good.  Didn't really understand why you had to have reservations for everything on the ship.  I guess it was due to the size of the ship.  Enjoyed the last day on the pool deck (claim your lounge chairs early), soaking up the sun and having fun on the slides!  Even though it was crowded on the pool deck, we still enjoyed the day.

Getting off the ship was a piece of cake since we carried all our luggage on and off.  We were pack in our car and on the road by 8:00am.  We would definitely cruise with NCL again but we are keeping the door open to other cruise lines as well.  We have been on Carnival and Princess.  We would like to try Royal Caribbean next.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Specialty Dining - GREAT! Everything else - okay

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool/Slides - Great SPA/Fitness - Great Other parts/activities seemed chopped up. Could never get to what we wanted to go to due to other things. Repeated sessions/activates would have been nice.

Entertainment

Didn't see big shows, we were late and they didn't let us in. The smaller shows that we saw were alright.

Service and Staff

SPA STAFF!!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship was very clean, just seemed chopped up. You had to go up stairs and down stairs just to get from one side to another. Missed not being able to walk all around the top of the ship from front to back.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Front of the ship so we had to walk every time we came off the elevators or steps, but we didn't feel too much rocking from the boat where we were at. The cabin itself was awesome.

Ship tip

Big ship, lots of people in common areas (buffets), pool decks, etc. Try the extras like the specialty dining and spa areas. Not as crowded and you can relax and enjoy your vacation.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

For as early as we arrived, didn't expect there to be a line outside of the terminal. We had to wait outside at least 20 minutes before we were allowed upstairs to go through security.

Nassau, Bahamas

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

Don't know, we didn't go there due to bad weather, we were docked in Nassau for two days.
