Review summary

Excellent cruise itinerary.  NCL's Free Style cruising is very good.  Flexible dining options and casual as you choose.  The Epic is a very large ship more like a floating hotel than a grand ocean liner.  It has no open sundeck that circles the ship.  The design is more cut up, but that helps disperse the 4000+ passengers and makes it feel less crowded.  The stateroom was excellent.  Service staff is good and food is good but not "exceptional".  Overall a very good package.

With the exception of the service desk staff. They were unable to handle a very minor issue. Like programed robots with canned answers, incapable of being logical!

Ship tip

The NCL Epic is a very large ship, more like a floating hotel than a stylish ocean liner. No grand open areas, more cut up in many separate public areas, but that helped break up the fact that there are over 4000 passengers on board. It has no open sundeck that circles the ship.

The Alhambra is interesting but not near as "grand" as I expected.

Does $8 fee for I concierge go onto your own phone bill or is it added to account on board?

Wow that sounds very worth $8!!

iConcierge is free to access the daily schedule, show reservations, etc.  To message or call other members of your family or anyone else on the ship, it is a $7.95 fee per phone.  It was very helpful with our 14 year old.

I've heard iConcierge app is totally free. Don't know for sure as I haven't used it yet. It uses the ships wifi only for messaging others in your group. It won't work off the ship!

Does 'i concierge',cost anything if you only use it on-board.
