Review summary

We were hesitate about this vacation after it was rescheduled and several changes to entertainment but  enjoyed every minute! We started with the 7 day land tour by Gate1 Tours. Our tour guide, Emanuela, was number one in her field!  She spoiled us all week by escorting us from Venice through Florence and Rome. She scheduled all tours, some lunches and dinners. We saw everything Norwegian advertised. The tour guides for our excursions on Norwegian Cruise were good but found they gave us a lot of facts and information but generally left us at the location to tour by ourselves and then brought us back to the ship. All the specialty restaurants were included for us and we enjoyed all of them. The were excellent!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Specialty Restaurants and all were excellent.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There was plenty to do and the shows were great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Enson our Room Stuart took excellent care of us.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was much larger than I expected it to be. I wasn't to fond of the curtain that separated the toilet and shower from the cabin. It was ok for a couple , but a family or singles sharing a cabin might be a little strange.

Ship tip

the Western Mediterranean itinerary was great for us but I suggest if possible to add the 7 day land tour if you really want to see Venice, Florence, & Rome. The cruise ports don't allow enough time to really see all the sights of Italy.

Ports of call

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
We did the Cinque Terre since we had seen Florence & Pisa through our land tour and really enjoyed these villages.

Cannes, France

Monico and Monte Carlo were magnificent to see. The yachts and cars!

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

3 out of 5
We did the Magical Majorica Train and should have done the winery instead! Train ride up and back never get to get off anywhere.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Beautiful churches and interesting history.

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Do the Naples, Capri, Sorrento & Pompeii Excursion. Well worth the money.
