Review summary

We enjoyed the food, all of the ports, the specialty restaurant Shanghai, the ice bar, and our steward was outstanding.  Some problem areas:  my luggage did not show up until 11:00 the first night.  We ate at the bar restaurant and finally left because of the delay in receiving our food.  There simply wasn't enough staff to handle the number of seats in the bar area.  While the staff we encountered was very helpful,  they seemed overworked.  I do not think there were enough to handle the 4100 people on the ship. The employee/guest ratio on the larger ships is much less than on the 2200 passenger ships we have used in the past.

This was our first inside stateroom and we didn't really miss the window. Our steward, Rector, was excellent

We visited the Cathedral Compistino and found the tour to be very interesting. our tour guide was very informative.

Lisbon, Portugal

Again, our tour guide was very informative. the three areas we visited were very scenic.

Cartagena, Spain

We couldn't get over the streets paved in granite. The Roman theatre is a must see. There is no need to take a tour here as busses take you in to town and everything is walkable.

Barcelona, Spain

We spent three extra days in Barcelona after our cruise. The city has many unique sites. Some of the well known tourist destinations such as the Sagrada Familia are extremely crowded and you need to buy tickets for these in advance. Our favorite site was the Cathedral, which was not that crowded and had an amazing museum of early religious art. It is a walking city with numerous outdoor restaurants and small shops. I highly recommend spending a few extra days in Barcelona.

Barcelona is one of my favorite cities.  I have been there twice and am returning next year.

Just curious about which bar restaurant you are referring to and the lack of seats. Was this just one occasion?
