Review summary

Absolutely fantastic vacation. So good in fact we're going again this year but with a group of about 50 of our friends and family.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very quick due to low percentage of capacity. Tested at port, super simple. No delays nor hangups.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
NCL has greatly improved their dining choices and quality. From the buffet to the specialty, the food was flavorful and played well. Did not taste like mass produced food.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were a lot of activities, cannot speak to any of them because we were busy in ports, at the bars on the ship or in the thermal spa. The schedule was extremely full with lots of choices each day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Kinky boots was amazing. Absolutely fantastic. The choir of man had covid and did not perform.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters and bar staff were always so kind and attentive. They learned our names and drinks very fast (is that a bad sign). We never met our room steward, but someone was definitely tidying up our room.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was spotless all week. Bathrooms always looked like you were the first person in there. The entire ship looked brand new.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a corner balcony and will never cruise in any room below a balcony again. They are an absolute must for Alaskan cruises. We saw whales out of our room everyday along with other animals like otters and eagles. Plenty of room for two. Our fridge did not work on day 1, we called the desk and they switched it out while we were at dinner less than an hour later!

Ship tip

Splurge on a balcony. The Observation lounge is the best spot to relax and watch the Alaskan wilderness go by.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

3 out of 5
It's nice, very expensive, probably more so than NYC.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
This was our favorite. We did some self guided hiking. The bar next to the port was very good and very friendly staff.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
The most scenic part of our trip. Balcony was clutch because we used blankets from the room and the bathroom was close.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
More self guided hiking. Mendenhall Glacier is a super easy walk and well worth it! Hiking above the gondola/tram is a little more challenging but very nice. Saw a pod of Orcas while riding up the mountain.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Ketchikan felt real touristy until we walked a few blocks into town. We found a bar that had amazing burgers for lunch. Walked along the stream and saw thousands of salmon all staging for the spawn. Totem museum was decent, some were extremely old.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Four stars because it was smooth but we hated to leave.
