Review summary

The process of using the Internet on mobile devices is frustrating for all travelers (just ask the guy at the help desk who was overwhelmed with answering questions). Something needs to be done to make this much easier to use. Ugh.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We all were given wristbands once we received our negative results. However no one told us why we were wearing them, when to take them off, etc. Some travelers were still wearing them several days into the trip, when in actuality we could have taken them off the moment we got on board. No one bothered to tell us when we could take them off.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Mostly okay but too often did I grab a stale slice of cake or bread. Sometime cooler than warm piece of food in the cafe. The restaurants were not bad.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Still don't understand why I kept seeing people in gym. Not sure they knew they were on vacation, LOL!. but The hot tubs were set to the same temperature as the pools. That’s just annoying. The point of a hot tub is to have hot water, not warm water.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Choir of Man was superb. The other shows were cruise quality so can't complain.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Super nice sometimes overly nice staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The giant bubble wrap looking chandelier hanging down between decks 8-6 was a little odd looking. Everything was always clean and maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was rather disconcerting to have the power in the room shut off (lights and outlets) several minutes after entering my stateroom. We had to ask a room steward why, for which he showed us that we needed to put a room key into the slot just inside the door (on the wall). Nothing in the room told us how this works. Surely there should be a placard on the wall near the door explaining this. Wished the couch was nearer the balcony sliding door because the bed blocked the entry about 95%.

Ship tip

Get your bearings fast. Know which way is aft/forward.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Live close so I know Seattle well.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

3 out of 5
Town was closed due to covid so no one got to do anything but chill at the shops in the port. Food was way overpriced.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Beautiful weather and scenery!

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Wow, every other shop was a jewelry shop or same ole gift shop. The tram was cool for scenery photo shots.

Ketchikan, Alaska

3 out of 5
ichy... town built for tourists on ships.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy peasy.

Appreciate your feedback. Just a note: any card in the slot will do. Doesn’t have to be your room key. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
