Norwegian Dawn Cruise Reviews - Reviews

I realize it was a quick cruise to nowhere but we swear we saw one of the other passengers panhandling the night before on Bourbon street.  The service was good, the food was good. The song & dance review was excellent.  The casino was friendly. I've never seen an elevator overload and not close the doors before!! There was no rock wall, water park, or anything else that I've grown to expect from my previous 10 cruises.  I'm just really glad it was only a 2 day cruise. 

The Norwegian Dawn sailed out of Boston ( our hometown) and traveled for 14 days thru the Caribbean. The ports were good - loved Puerto Rico, Aruba, Curacao and Cozumel. Bonaire is only of interest if you like to dive otherwise nothing there and the beaches were not good. Ochos Rios in Jamaica should be taken off all itineraries - very poor, dirty and people very pushy. 

We had an outside room with a balcony - room was good size - bathroom very small - room steward was very slow doing rooms. Buffets were plentiful but seemed to have the same things each morning and afternoon. Dinner was very good in the Aqua dining room but at time service was slow.

We enjoy cruising with NCL, and on the Dawn. We've always had a good time, and love to meet the crew and the folks that make it all happen. We have noticed cut backs, more each cruise. This year the pizza delivery was discontinued, a big disappointment. Room service went from $0 to $8 per delivery, and that took care of that. The buffet is always good, but quite repetitive. Encountered a few issues with our cabin, that also seems to be becoming commonplace. The people who deserve the biggest accolades are the ones behind the scenes that passengers never see, they work the hardest. The bar crew is always the best, whether or not ordering beverages. They are fun and friendly, entertaining, they like to have a good time and genuinely enjoy meeting people from all over. Unfortunately bar prices also increased significantly, not good. Entertainment on the pool deck was very good this cruise, but not enough of it. For a Caribbean cruise we want to be out by the pool bar and enjoy live music offerings. More activities are needed on deck. The repositioning cruise is attended by a more senior set, therefore deck activities seem to be lacking. The ports were enjoyable, have visited most several times now, a little more diversity is always welcome. Very little interaction with cruise director's staff and Officers, not much visibility on deck. We had a good time, met some great folks, reunited with old friends, we laughed, we ate, we drank. Third repositioning cruise, will consider a different itinerary next time around.

We would highly recommend this cruise to anyone.  Excellent value, with good staff, great entertainment and good food.  Can't wait to do it again in the future.

The only bad thing on the whole cruise was the BEDS need to be replaced.

Back hurt all 14 days.

i am just glad to be back in my own bed.

It was a great crew & service. The reason I did not score them a 5 one is charged for texting. We have T Mobile our plan is unlimited texting & e mail anywhere in the world. I received a message from T Mobile advising there would be a charge for texting, the carrier provided a phone number. I called & was advised it was not them that was charging it was Norweigein Dawn. Norweigein needs to get on board with everyone else. Also, no big screen tv outside. A great ship that needs to improve 

We enjoyed our cruise with NCL on the Dawn.  The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.  For the first time I was disappointed with the foods in the specialty dining rooms. The Main dining rooms were almost better.  If we had been paying the extra fees for the specialties I would have been very upset. Everything is getting to fancy.  Lunches were better you can get sandwich fillings and cold cuts.  Entertainment was good and ports of call very good.  I will say things are getting expensive and they seem to be nickle and diming you.   

We did not know what to expect since reviews for Dawn were not so positive, however, we found her to be wonderful. The food was good, the entertainment was amazing and the staff very helpful. The negatives we found were that our bed kept becoming twin size instead of full size, and some of our luggage was misplaced until day 3. We really couldn't complain though because things happen and we did have a great experience!

The only negative was the stateroom. I had agreed to an outside room with an obstructed view, with the understanding that the final room would be decided on the ship. This did not happen. The view was obstructed by a lifeboat and there was no view. We would have been better off with an inside room.

we had a great time. This is a very relaxing cruise. We did not have to fly so our vacation started when we left our house. The buffet was good and convenient we ate there most of the time. I really enjoyed the shows every night. The inside room was quite small but adequate. We really liked the beverage package. That really saved us lots of money!!!

This was our 4th cruise with BCL and what a disappointment. It is obvious to us that NCL are trying to keep the advertised price of a cruise down by adding extras and cutting back on their service. For example the Ultimate Drink Package is good value if you can find a drinks waiter, most times you have to go to the bar to get your drinks and if you are in a restaurant then on many cases you go without. The breakfast choices you have in your cabin have been drastically reduced, you cannot even get toast without paying extra.. The service charges have been increased, the cost of photographs have been increased and on two nights there was only one showing of the evening show. Needless to say we will never again set foot on a NCL cruise ship.

Service was lacking. Did not make me feel important to them, just another fare.

Some of the food was good, the rest we felt was below par.

Stateroom could have been cleaner.

Wife felt the ship could have been cleaner.

The food was ok, nothing fabulous, except for the food in Bamboo which we enjoyed above the other offerings.

Service at the bars was exceptionally slow. Enjoyed a couple of the shows.

Did not like the way they ran the bingo sessions.

Bed was horrible. Balcony was too small to enjoy.

Balcony room was the smallest of any ship we have been on.

Cruise was great! The staff was very pleasant and efficient and take care of all your needs.  Social Director and Assistant were very entertaining, funny and talented.  Freestyle dining was wonderful and the food was delicious.

we enjoyed the trip to Bermuda. This makes our thirteen trip by boat. the only thing we do not like is the amount of time we get to spend on the island. We think the ship could spend another day without being in a rush to get back. Or make it a six day. We thought the ship was really clean and all of the workers try their best to take care of the guest.

My daughter, husband and I just loved our cruise celebrating our daughter's birthday.  My daughter and I are on a gluten-free, shellfish-free diet.  The manager of special diets made certain we chose food that was right for our diets and even made them special for us.  For my daughter's birthday they made my daughter a special gluten-free cake saying, "Happy Birthday".  They also sang "Happy Birthday" to my daughter.  She was so happy.  All the food was delicious.  There was plenty to do on the ship from exercising (I would recommend their having a digital scale rather than what they have in the gym) to wonderful shows.  We had a good time in Bermuda with plenty to do with museums, churches, beaches and, of course, shopping.  They also have free transportation to get you to the shopping mall, which we promptly took advantage of doing.  We highly recommend this cruise, especially for New Englanders who can just drive to the Black Falcon Drive garage in the Boston dock to park your car until you get off the ship (no plane flights, etc.).

Bermuda was absolutely beautiful!  We lucked out with perfect weather all 3 days that we were docked in Bermuda.  We spent the first day in Snorkel park by the dockyard.  Nice relaxing beach with bar service and a band.  The second day we bought a day pass for public transportation.  took the ferry to Hamilton.  Walked around some shops and took a bus to the Crystal Caves.  the crystal caves were amazing.  We only did the one cave, thought that was plenty.  Went to the Swizzle Inn for lunch and a rum swizzle.  AMAZING!  Great waitress told us about a small quiet beach not far from the restaurant.  St. Johns Beach.  It was absolutely beautiful.  The last day we just shopped around the dockyard.  Overall an awesome vacation and can't wait to go back again.  Staff on the Dawn were absolutely great!  Norbelle was our bartender/waiter every room we went.  He was AWESOME!!! 

The crew on the Norweigan Dawn were amazing!  Food was fantastic, so much to choose from.  Highly recommend this cruise to anyone!  Will definitely be on this cruise again  

The staff was friendly and very helpful.  We felt like we were royalty because they catered out  out ever need. Great time. I would recommend to all they should take this cruise. 

Great Cruise, would have liked information on how to entertain myself though, like bringing a book, since I did not anticipate so much downtime being a first time cruiser (like an email).  Dawn was easy to navigate, I found my way around after half a day.
