The embarkation process created a sour taste to start with. Having an 8+ hour delay in setting sail did nothing to reverse the initial taste. Having the limited show schedules was certainly disappointing. Having to tender at both Roatan and Harvest Caye was not expected and was not a situation that I plan to repeat. The food (other than in the buffet) was excellent. The service staff was very good with some of the staff being exceptional.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
After using the online check in and then having the medical questionnaire completed at the port, we were allowed to go to the ship. When we arrived on the ship the security scanners would not recognize our card (this involved about 15 passengers). It to NCL 45 minutes to get someone to come to see what the problem was. At that point, they essentially had to repeat the check in process for each of the waiting passengers.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room and the specialty restaurants that we went to (La Cucina, Moderno and Cagneys) were all excellent. The buffet was horrible. I tried to eat at the buffet twice (one breakfast and one lunch) and had to walk away. O'Sheehan's served as a good alternate for breakfast and lunch).
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The shows were offered only 1 time per night which created no options when dinner reservations conflicted with show times. There was a fantastic comedian on board, but was only given a single show (and PG at that) for the week.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
We were unable to get to the stage shows. The music on board lacked options as to the type of music. Several different names were applied to the theme parties, but the music remained the same.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service provided by the waiters, bar staff and room steward was excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was kept very clean during the cruise. The only issue would be to question the design of the toilet area in the stateroom (it was functional, but a bit cramped).
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Toilet area was a bit cramped. The door to the balcony was a bit stiff when trying to open.
Ship tip
If you want to see the stage shows schedule dinner either very early or very late.
