Too many sick people coughing without covering their mouth. Lousy weather for 3 days limited smokers to the Cigar Room with terrible ventilation. Food quality and taste poor. Hence recycled a/c caused me to develop bronchitis. My cabin below hallway by bar and Cigar Room and heard heavy foot traffic until after midnight. At times some smoke drifted into my stateroom. The rating of 3.1 was because of the excursions booked thru Cruise Only Alaska Airlines. Not because of NCL.

Magician was great, guitar/singer was very good as well as piano player/singer. Duo in Atrium were good.

My waitresses I had through out the cruise in the Aqua restaurant were very attentive. Collion my room steward was attentive to my illness and took very good care of my room. Had to notify Anne Marie Huze re hearing impaired equipment for my room. It got taken care of then. Collin tried to figure it out but it was a secret how to turn off the alarm.

the renovation improved the ladies public restrooms and the change in carpeting was great. Couldn't find my hearing aid batteries when they fell on the grey carpet in my stateroom. Level 5 is a confusion for getting anywhere above or Aft.

Ship tip
Don't sail out of Boston in November! The cigar room has poor ventilation.
COLD, Hop on Hope off bus was terrible! Brits smoking in back, driver ignoring that, strong MA accent which was unintelligible, drove too fast to see anything and dangerous in rush hour traffic!
Booked excursion thru agency however sea was too rough to snorkel. Paid $30. for ride around Dutch and French sides with knowledgeable and nice driver. Bought great pastries at a French bakery!!
Excellent ECO tour thru agency included snorkeling, turtle environmental info, mangrove and bird info, stop at Hell's Gate Island with a swim to it, stop at another island for lunch which was fabulous, and climbed to top of it for view of Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean meeting. Guide helped me climb it as I am a little handicapped.
Only excursion I booked thru Norwegian to see Old San Juan and go to airport. It was cut short because some people were leaving at 1pm and should not have even been on the tour as it was for flights after 3pm! However, the driver was not totally fluent in English and repetitive. Fort was interesting, then a 30 min stop in Old San Juan!!! Then a weird path to Ocean Park. We stopped to see a tiny beach at Atlantic ocean. We just sailed on the ocean for over 3 days to get to St. Thomas, etc. Then to the airport where I had to sit 6 hours because of the inconsiderate people and stupidity of NCL for booking them on this tour.
