Review summary

This was our first cruise. We purchased the Ulitmate Beverage Package which leads you to believe that all of your beverages (not including bottles of wine of course) would be complimentary. However upon check out we discovered that if you order "coffee with cream and sugar" at the Lavazza Coffee Bar, they give you and americano (shot of espresso with hot water added to it) with cream and sugar and you get charged $2.05 for every "coffee". A.) we should have been told that this was not coffee. B.) we should have been told it was not part of our Ultimate Beverage Package. C.) All beverages should be included in the "Ultimate Beverage" package. Also our supposed cabin boy never checked the soap in the shower dispenser so we were out of soap for the last 2 days. Other than that, the cruise was fun and all staff were vary courteous.

specialty dining was great, but most food in the Garden Cafe and Blue Lagoon was sub par.

cabin boy needs to check the soap and shampoo dispensers every time he cleans the room. My aunt and uncle had different animal towels every day. We only got one 1 time.

We have the drink package for our next Bermuda run. I will have to check that carefully.... Are we allowed to call them Cabin Boys?????LOL

That would depend on the ship hence "ship specific". =D On some it is the Sailaway Special Drink or a regional beverage. You should check with guest services.

What type of alcoholic beverage is considered a 'ship specific promotion'?

Glad the rest of the cruise was fun except for the "coffee issue" but NCL clearly spells out what is and what isn't covered.... there is some responsibility on the passenger to ask if a beverage is covered especially when you get a beverage at specialty location such as "Lavazza Coffee Bar": The Ultimate Beverage Package does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, select Lavazza coffee beverages, energy drinks, vending machines, wine stations or spirits, cocktails, draft or bottled beer and glasses of wine over $15. One (1) beverage per person per transaction. Package can be used in all restaurants, lounges, bars and Great Stirrup Cay. Any items over $15 will receive an $15 discount and the guest will be charged the difference to their account.
