Had a Pretty good time. Quieter venue than most cruises.

This cruise didn't have as big of entertainment productions as newer larger ships, but it was pleasant and relaxing.  "Twice as Nice" was great to listen to, and had a great repertoire.  The bed was initially uncomfortable for me, but our terrific room steward, Elin, procured a foam mat to fix it. I rated the food on this trip as only okay, there is no longer lobster on the dining room menu, but the service was fantastic, especially our waiter Saldy,  He was so nice, so helpful, and so upbeat and fun! He said his intent was to spoil us, and he did! We enjoyed the Calypso train tour in Belize, but were disappointed in the beach trip in Costa Maya...the water there was just not the Caribbean blue that we so love, and it was full of floating debris. We would have liked to have been offered a "level 1" activity in Roatan, too.

Ship Quality
Ship was in good shape, but the decor in our room was horrendous. Too many colors in the mix: lime green sofa, turquoise carpet with multicolored starfish, orange plastic and chrome chairs and tables, and peach drapes. Ugh! Really just a change of drapes to a teal or deep blue would have improved the room's ambience.or even a neutral color.
Food and Dining
We really missed having a lobster or seafood night. I think it would be worth and extra $25 a person to include one night with a lobster option. There was a lobster dish on the Bistro menu, as an add-on dinner choice.
Service and Staff
We loved our very helpful room steward,Elin, we asked to be regulaly seated at Saldy's table in the Venetian, as he added so much fun to our meals there, and we LOVED the entertainment provided by "Twice as Nice"! They were terrific, and had great programs every night! What a pleasure to listen to them.
Our favorite was "Twice as Nice" (Les and Shelley), but the Big band concert was good, and we also enjoyed the piano bar. Very relaxing trip.
Children's Programs N/A for us.
Onboard Activities
The barbeques offered by the pool were good. My husband was especially fond of the ice cream sundaes readily available to him.
Destinations and Excursions
We are only able to participate in Level one activities, and enjoyed the Belize Calypso train tour best. I'm physically unable to participate in things like ziplines, and long treks over uneven ground. We love learning about each destination however, and prefer the informative kind of tour with transportation best.
Cabin / Stateroom
Ask for a foam pad for the bed. Our room was very large with two sliding doors to a balcony, but décor colors were unsettling. Looks like they were halfway through changing it. Our room could have used at least ONE comfortable chair. Sofa was too hard to even sit on. Still was a good cruise.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Mardi Gras was going on before and after our cruise, making the cruise port both busy and more expensive to stay there. Otherwise it could be a bargain, New Orleans is a fun place to visit and shop.
Cozumel, Mexico
This was a better port than the cruise we came here with RCL. More to do, better access to taxis.
Belize City, Belize
For an educational afternoon, take the 1 1/2 hour Calypso Train tour around the city. It was informative and fun, and our guide was fantastic.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras
We did not take a tour here, and were advised not to go too far from the port as it might be dangerous. Pretty good shopping, and great margaritas though!
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
We thought the beach they took us to on our tour was clean enough, and the water wasn't rough, but there was much debris floating in the surf, making swimming an unattractive alternative.

The buffet was okay, typical buffet food. Dining room somewhat better. Oddly, the very same drink cost anywhere from $7 to $12 at different times and when ordered from different places on the ship, and sometimes even at the same place and similar time the price varied.
