Save your money and your sanity. Basically spring break at sea with bad food, bad service and no toilet in stateroom. Nickel and dimed. Loud, crowded. I did an NCL cruise to Bermuda in 2013 and did not have the horrible experience I had this time around (2024). Ports of call were decent and weather was great but other than that, nothing good to say.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Arrived near end of embarkation so missed crowd and got on board quickly; friendly. staff
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Same menu in all "restaurants" just different dining area; Cagney's Steakhouse not good (glad I got it as a freebie!); Italian place better but still just "okay." Food was horrible everywhere. Does not appear anything made fresh on ship
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Pool was too crowded; kids in hot tubs; onboard activities were cheesy; hard to find lounge chairs on decks
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Enjoyed the "Burn the Floor" show. Too crowded to get into Rumours show. Bands by pool were decent. Band in Manhattan Room way too loud.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Most if not all of the staff had accents and it was very difficult to understand them. Service slow in all restaurants; guest services and excursion desk understaffed and not open enough hours; spa did not timely refund me for cancellation; on board account ledger was inaccurate--did not know what being charged or credited for;
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Restaurants hard to find. Had to walk through casino to get places; atrium is tacky; need more/bigger pools
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Our stateroom did not have a functioning toilet for 2 days! This apparently was an issue throughout much of the ship. No explanation from guest services. No remuneration for inconvenience. No outlets or USB by bed.
Only went to area by port, so did not really get a feel for the island. The port area was nice and clean with lots of shops, restaurants, bars, lounge chairs, bathrooms, etc.
Ship was only docked here until 2 p.m. so had to get up super early if you wanted to do an excursion. I stayed on ship. Bummer because pretty island and lots to explore if had more time.
This cruise wouldn't have been during a school break. Spring break was throughout March and the first week of April. More and more people are pulling their kids out of school to go on vacation because apparently they don't want to be bothered with all the kids either. And they board the ship and just let their kids run wild, all the while bragging about how well behaved their kids are.
