Overall the ship, the food, and the service was just ok. But great weather and good friends made for a nice week away.

Smooth, fast
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Short staffed in many restaurants. No food was ever served hot, good was ok not great.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Lots of water real estate on deck with a kiddie splash area and a ropes course nobody was using left the main pool jam-packed. Not a great layout. Gym was nice.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
No actual Broadway type show on this trip. Burn the Floor was a ballroom dance show- ok but prefer previous cruises that had Jersey Boys, Six, and other Broadway type shows. Musicians and singers in the lounge and on deck were good.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Obviously short staffed. Not like cruising of years ago where you actually see your room stewards throughout the morning and evening. I think it was day three before we actually saw ours. Waite staff were friendly in the restaurants, but again in days of old would have felt like you got to know them by the end of the week. Now it's all business.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
I know that the cruise lines deferred a lot of maintenance during the covid years. And it shows. We noticed lots of rust, paint that needed to be redone, and see comments above about about wasted real estate on deck. Not my favorite NCL ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Just okay. But not that comfortable. Was chatting with another guest on the last day and found out that you could have asked for a 1-in foam pad and it made all the difference. Why not just provide them without having to be asked? The ship was also having a problem with toilets flushing. Multiple flushes to make it go down.
Ship tip
I would only consider sailing on Breakaway again ifit was a cruise at a very deep discount.
Thanks for the review
Pretty much similar to a lot of other reviews
Am sailing in December and I somewhat expected the same, given the age of the ship, and the shortage of staff
