This was my forth Norweigan cruise and will probably be my last.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
There should be a better system to get people on board than having them stand in such a long line
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Cagney's was wonderful but the other three speciality resturants weren't really memorable. Hated the food and service at the Manhattan. One of our meals came out ice cold and sirloin was tough and grizzly. Garden buffet was OK but we hardly went there because we were concerned about people touching the food.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Went in the pool a few times. Several times the kiddie pool was closed so children ended up in adult pool which meant a lot of splashing and jumping.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Saw Six. It was a very nice show.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Our room steward was very good. It was hit or miss with bartenders and wait staff. Although it seemed like there just wasn't enough staff for as many people who were cruising.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship is much too big. Preferred earlier trip we had taken on the Jade.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Beds were awful. Room was way to small. However loved the watervpressure and spray nozzles in the shower, they get 5 stars.
Ship tip
Unless you can afford Haven rooms I wouldn't take another cruise with Norweigan.
Excursion included goingvto a petting zoo with monkeys, parrot and a sloth. Found out after sloths don't like to be held and we feel so badly that we partook in something that wasn't safe for the animals. You should really discontinue this excursion from future cruises.
It seems like all the mass cruise ships have had long lines and disorganized embarkations lately. The luxury cruises seem to be better. But I would suggest either arrive super early or arrive late in the day and just get to walk straight on. That's been my experience. I refuse to wait in a line like I did on my last cruise due to a back to back cruise. I have some more upscale cruises coming up and hopefully that would change.
Thanks for your review and hopefully you find a ship you enjoy.
Indeed, perhaps its time to try another cruiseline at least to compare... Covid has changed alot of things in the cruising industry, and not for the best
I can certainly understand your decision to cruise on a different line based on your experience!! We have only sailed Princess, and have not had issues with embarkation that I have read occurs for others. I can’t understand how it’s often such an issue for many.
