This was our first cruise - we were expecting better - maybe we will try again with a different line - literally thousands of dollars of hidden charges - give me the numbers up front don't nickel and dime me
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Paid for priority and got onboard no quicker than other passengers
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was ok - nothing special. Ate in 4 different specialty restaurants and was not impressed by any of them
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Pool area not picked up on a regular basis - found garbage floating in pool - would have liked to do more activities but either they were overcrowded or no spots available or the times were limited
Entertainment
2 out of 5
only got to see 2 shows - all the rest were all booked up by the time the ship sailed first day
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
nothing outstanding
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
as mentioned before pool area filthy
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
probably the highlight of the trip - had a very nice steward - she made sure we had what we needed
Booked my own excursion using TripAdvisor - Much nicer than the ones offered through NCL only bad part was I hated the tourist shops you have to go through to get to the exit. BTW the exit is poorly marked
The load station for the buses is over congested - Long bus ride to the beach, the beach was nice - the snorkeling was great. The food they provided was terrible
Ummmm, you could have been at work, at home, or some other place where you complain, you're doing something a lot of people wish they could do, and yet you find things to complain about. Sorry you had a bad CRUISE.
You are stating all the cons non of the pros
If you have a negative attitude about the cruise ship or cruise line you are going to have negative vacation
Maybe cruising isn’t for you
Plenty of research online about cruise and which cruise lines are for you etc.
I always have an open mind when cruising and Things can change Dailey out in the open seas
Do you want to be a part of the solution or part of the problem and complain about everything because things don’t go as planned
That’s part of cruising keep a positive attitude and expect change and you’ll enjoy your time on vacation much better I guarantee it
We were booked to go on this cruise back in 2020, but was cancelled due to covid….we were looking forward to the ice bar. Thanks for the review, we are booked on the escape in March. I expect it will be crowded, so I don’t mind relaxing on my balcony with a few drinks.
The Breakaway is a great ship for families, people who like to party, and people who like an ABUNDANCE of activities planned out to attend.
Breakaway IS NOT for those who have mobility issues, like quiet and relaxation, who dislike crowds and action going on all.the.time, who like a lot of open decks, who like to be in nature.
This was my 7th cruise and my least favorite ship.
Good stuff:
I thought the food was delicious!
It was very clean.
The shows were great!
Easy boarding & disembarking
Needs improvement:
Not allowing smoking in so many public areas
Limit Thermal Spa passes, the crowdedness takes away from the expected tranquility
Create tables at restaurants for those using a scooter and allow for it to park there.
Access the capability to pull up passengers itemized itinerary to cross reference they are receiving what they paid for!!! (Since the internet doesn't work at sea)
Love folks who have a port miss for safety concerns then dis the ship and port because they missed it and expect a substitute. Port visits are like going to the casino, only with better odds of ‘winning’.
