We were totally thrilled to return to cruising. We met some interesting, fun people on board. The drink package was included and it was very convenient. The service on the whole was excellent, especially our server at Taste, Lian Limpoco, and our room steward, Amol Redkar. The food was very good especially the Tiramisu and the Creme Brulee and the hibachi specialty dinner. The tender situation getting onto Stirrup Cay was very disappointing and took way too long. The island was wonderful!

Manhattan Room-very slow service, but good food. Taste-same menu as Manhattan Room but smaller and our server, Lian Limjoco, was outstanding. She remembered what we liked, was extremely efficient, professional, friendly...just a joy!!!! We asked for her since the first time we went to Taste. Hibachi restaurant was delicious and fun. Cagney's Steak House was very slow service but food was good. Buffet was crowded but had a good variety. The bartenders were very efficient and friendly.
Onboard Activities

Trivia was jammed packed and put in the Atrium which was crowded and noisy. The furniture in the Atrium was very uncomfortable. Adult pool was extremely crowded-did not use. Liked the adult section at the back of the ship but there was smoking allowed and did not care for that.
Entertainment

Missed having a designated piano bar with a cozy atmosphere. Did not realize until too late, that all shows needed to be reserved. We missed being able to see a comedian nightly. "Six" was okay, the singing was outstanding but not our particular favorite. Most of the music we heard throughout the ship, was wonderful.

Ship Quality

The Breakway was not our favorite Norwegian ship. It was clean but chairs were uncomfortable, the depth was too deep, and some needed repair. We had an inside cabin and we expected it to be small and it was. There definitely needs to be more plugs, outlets for phones, etc.

Our first experience with an inside cabin. It was small and bed was okay. Glad our friends recommended night lights. Not enough electrical plugs. Our steward, Amol Redkar, was very pleasant, efficient, and accommodating. He was best steward we've had on any cruise!

Went on a general bus excursion of Puerto Plata. Enjoyed our guide. His love for his island and people were contagious! I forgot to write down his name. He was very good.
We took another general tour because it was our first experience on the island. We were unaware that we would be on the beach for 90 minutes of our tour. We were not prepared for that.
We did not do an excursion or any additional activities on the island. The tender delays were very disappointing. Even though we signed up for the tender as soon as we found out we needed to, we didn't get to the island until 1:00 p.m. Chairs were available but you needed to walk far. The beach and water were beautiful. The food stations and drinks were included in the day which was a great improvement from the other private island, but the food areas shut down at 2:00. Not good planning. Hope Norwegian will build a dock so visitors can exit without being tendered.
