Review summary

This was our 21st cruise, fifth on Norwegian. It was overall very nice, and the weather could not have been more perfect. I appreciated the staff all wearing masks even though most passengers did not. They do need to put out more hand sanitizer stations, and they need to have servers in the buffet so passengers aren't handling the tongs. Embarkation needs work to avoid long crowded lines. Although we had proof of our negative Covid tests, it was barely noted. I wanted them to be sure we all had that. The ship is clean, and the food is ample and varied. The crew stayed busy and helpful.

Embarkation

We had supposedly staggered arrivals to avoid crowding, but it was very crowded, long lines, and slow check-in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Loved Cagney's and Ocean Blue. The buffet was varied and food was decent.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not participate in the pool area, enjoyed the atrium music and small dance area. REALLY appreciated the help from the internet guy Adrian.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The magician/comedian Jean Pierre Parent was fantastic. Loved his shows! "Burn the Floor" was excellent.

Children's Programs

No children with us and didn't see any of their programs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was fine, kept our room well supplied. Wait staff and bar staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Common areas seemed well-maintained and clean. I hated the hard chairs in "Headliners". It was a small room, cramped and uncomfortable. The theater was small, but we always got there early to get a seat to a show we wanted to see. No problems getting elevators when needed. The Waterfront did not impress us, crowded on water's side.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was the first balcony room after 20 other cruises. We liked having it!

Ship tip

If you eat in the buffet, they are no longer serving guests and everyone handles the tongs. Take hand sanitizer and use it often.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

We flew down on embarkation day and flew home on disembarkation. No time spent in Miami.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

The Beach Escape tour wasn't at a very good beach at all, but the workers there were attentive and hustled to keep everyone supplied with drinks who wanted them. There was a good massage available.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We love Maya Key and are so grateful to visit it for a second time. They have the best lunches, clean beach, good lounge chairs, good snorkeling, and the animals on display who cannot survive in the wild are taken good care of. They have a huge clean locker room and restrooms next to the gift shop. It's one of my favorite places!

Harvest Caye, Belize

I didn't see what the hoop-la was all about. It was a nice beach, a nice area with birds and butterflies on display, didn't eat at the restaurant. The long pier was very hard to walk, and the tram sign said it was for disabled only. I'm not disabled but I am OLD and would have liked a ride. There were some pretty flowers also.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did the Iberostar resort for the day. It was a great place to spend at the beach, delicious food was cooked on the grill outside, the pool looked nice but we didn't use it. The sand was clean and soft; the water was beautiful, good snorkeling. The grounds were lovely: flowers, flamingoes, peacocks & peahens, coati, and lots of flowers.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We were among the first groups to leave, but we saw people getting off and no announcements had been made. We joined those getting off and easily found our luggage, got a quick taxi to the airport. Announcements should have been made about getting off!

Sailing away into the sunset! This is Maya Key, a short boat ride from the port.
