Review summary

We are raising now teenaged grandkids and desperately need a break from the drama and chaos the age is known for. For the first time in ages we fully relaxed. I didn't have to cook, he didn't have to drive for kid schedules. We didn't even have to make our beds. The excursions lifted the adventure to an entirely new level. It was a slice of heaven!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
An internet glitch caused my test report to vanish after scampering about trying to retrieve it and failing, mostly due to the nearly nonexistent wifi, I rushed to the otherside of the facility and retook it. The staff was encouraging and concerned. Having Haven cabins meant they went the extra mile smiling and sympathizing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Haven restaurant was great. Carnegys was excellent but Le Bistro was meh. Duck was dry and underseasoned.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We wandered the ship a bit, shopped and people watched. My husband was injured right before the cruise which limited his mobility.

Entertainment

First 2 nights I was seasick lol and the rest of the voyage we came back happily tired and thankful we could relax in comfort.

Children's Programs

No kids with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Room Steward, Ludwig was amazing. He didn't simply do his job he excelled at it. He even decorated the cabin for our 40th anniversary! Such a kind and delightful man. Romel, our Butler made sure he was spot on with fresh flowers and fruits and daily snacks. He also made sure we had a second bottle of champagne for our celebration. Virginia the incredibly talented Concierge handled every question and even made sure wheelchairs , pedicabs and shuttles were available when ever we went off the ship. Best staff ever!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We can not fault them on anything with the exception of the smoke emmenating from the casino. Just walking past it left the stink in your hair and on your clothes.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was large and beautifully decorated. Once accustomed to the height of the bed (lol) we were incredibly comfortable. Plenty of room for our belongings without living from a suitcase. The balcony was another happy place.

Ship tip

Take the time to actually relax! We saw people daily so tired from trying to do it all they had gotten no rest. By the time they sat down for a meal they often looked miserable.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent. Haven's priority embark and disembarkation made it a breeze .
