Review summary

The ship, food, crew, and activities were great. The ports of call, only saw one of three, Tortola was good, very interesting. The other two, we have only regret.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The ship is great for cruising with great food and a very accommodating crew. We had a good time while on board. However, there needs to be better organization and communication. Much of the time we were wandering around looking for information on where to go or what to do. The best example of this is the excursion on St. Thomas. We signed for the one excursion, and after wandering around the ship trying to disembark we wandered around the dock looking for the place we were supposed to meet. Finally we asked a group standing there if they were for our excursion(sorry can't remember the name). They were. A sign would have helped. The leader of the group said we were meeting at the end of the pier, 3 ship lenghts away. We set out walking, but never made it. My wife got short of breath, and said she couldn't make it when we got half-way past the NCL Encore. The Tour Guide, Gorden, seeing our distress, called Shore Patrol to arrange for a shuttle to take us back to the ship. My wife, in her weakened state, fell backward trying to climb up into the shuttle, and hit her backside and head on the hard pier concrete.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Very good. We enjoyed the restaurants very much. Food and service.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed our activities that we did, and the facilities were top rate. Being elderly we did not participate much.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
They were entertaining and enjoyable. Paquette was a bit loud, but that's his thing.

Children's Programs

We have no kids. The facilities looked very engaging though. And on one excursion, I saw one child that wanted to go back on the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
First rate we had nothing but excellent service the whole trip. Communication was sometime a problem though.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was clean and well maintained. It is a great ship. Better organization and communication would have increased our enjoyment.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable, a little small, but sufficient. The balcony was the best part, and we enjoyed that the most. The cabin steward kept the place clean, especially the head.

Ports of call

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
Very interesting history. Took the land & sea tour. The best part were the vistas, the worst was the shuttle driver's crazy driving. But it seemed everyone on the island drove that way.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Signed up for the Harbour Safari, did not get to go. (See above) Better organization needed with concideration of your guests.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

Did not do this port. Could not convince my wife that it was worth the effort.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
A lot of wandering about, looking for directions. Just like the rest of the cruise. You need a better way to communicate with your guests.
