Review summary

It was an incredible experience. Unforgettable experiences that my wife and I will share forever.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was extraordinarily fast! So fast the housekeeping services were not done with the rooms yet. I think this was very fast because we went from Sept 29- Oct 6th.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The food was very good overall. I would highly recommend La Cochina. It is not complementary, but the food there was fantastic. The restaurants of Taste, Savor, and the Manhattan Room all share the same kitchen with the buffet. So they’re nice if you want a quieter setting, instead of the noise of the Garden Cafè (buffet) and the hunt for finding a seat. Also the Garden Cafè is VERY big and can be overwhelming to try and choose things. The ship does try to provide Vegan/Vegetarian options but they’re not robust.

Entertainment

Fantastic shows and entertainment. The Atrium has some very good game shows. When we didn’t have something planned or had a sea day, we would hang out near there. In the game shows they get the audience involved a lot and it can be very fun. We had a Thriller dance class, Newlywed not so Newly Wed, and Perfect Couple game shows were pretty entertaining. Some are good for kids others can be a little grown-up in the content.

Balcony views are awesome for when the ship is coming to port and sail away. If you’re on the right side. Sunsets. It was great. FYI there are drinks in your room that you have to pay for if you use. Charged to the room.

Ship tip

Bring a lanyard to keep your keycard on. The ship keycard is like your passport, and can make your life pretty hard if you lose it.

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We had a guide named Ronald who was local and like a celebrity on the island. He was able to give us some very good information about the island his family has lived on for generations! He is a GREAT guide and very friendly. His tour is very inexpensive, but he works hard to support his large family by doing them. If you’re going to Snorkel Ronald will take you anywhere with his access to taxis. We didn’t really like West Bay beach for this. Way too murky.

We stayed a night at a hotel and took a Lyft to the port.

The coral reef restoration shore excursion was eye opening. I would recommend it to any Cruise-goer as a way to take knowledge back home with you about preserving our beautiful coral reefs.

Diana was a great guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about Mexican and Maya culture.

Very fast. Make sure you have your Passport and ship card. They have the option to get off the ship ASAP if you carry your own luggage. We did that, but had received a paper on our room saying to settle the ship account at guest services. So my wife went there, while I waited in line at 7:30 am — there was no line — but guest services said it will be automatically withdrawn with the card you have set up. So by the time my wife got back to me the line was fairly long, but took 30 minutes to get off the ship. Still very fast, I think because of the time of year. We went from September 29th through October 6th
