The cruise was a big time disappointment. I will never cruise with Norwegian again.

Norwegian Breakaway

8 Night Scandinavia & Russia (Warnemunde To Copenhagen)

Sail date: September 24, 2018

Ship: Norwegian Breakaway

Cabin type: Oceanview

Cabin number: 13818

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

The captain canceled three out of six ports because of weather which ruined the cruise. I didn’t pay a lot of money to sit on a ship. I wanted to see the destinations advertised. I would have been a lot happier if Norwegian would have offered to refund or at least give us a large credit on another cruise. But since I won’t cruise with them again I would prefer a 50% cash refund.

Safety is number 1 and weather no one can control. We cruise to visit ports we would not otherwise see, while enjoying a ship's amenities. We have sailed with 3 different cruiselines, each have their unique charms and or specialities. However this cruise did not fulfill our expectations. Our steward, waiters, bartenders were great. The tours we were able to do were great. However, there are numerous areas NCL should review to better their service, including a goodwill compensation package to keep patrons (competitor offers their clients). Their customer relations contact was a joke. This experience resulted in NCL losing 4 customers who had purchased 8 future deposits.

I happen to know the Captain is a great fan of this app and once in a while he'll cancel ports just to read all the negative posts. He get kinda bored up there. Gives him something to do.

Unfair review. Esm may be right... cruising not for everyone. Frequent cruisers seem to be people that love being on the ship and at sea.... the ports are a bonus, not the main event. But sorry that happened.

Disappointing 😯

Lesson learned: cruising is not for you because weather, political climate, etc can change from minute to minute thus impacting itineraries .... bet you'd complain if you were at Disney World and they closed outdoor rides in the middle of a thunderstorm. UGH

How dare the captain keep you safe! The thing is, if he would have gone to those ports, you would be complaining how he put your life in danger. SMH

Tame the weather.

Hi. You can claim the cancelled 3 ports through your insurance. Each port is £200. As we had to do this recently. Unfortunately we cannot take the weather!! Hope this info helps. Talk to your Cruise consultant.
