Review summary

this was my first time on the break away. My fourth cruise with NCL. also my first cruise bringing our younger children. There were good points and bad points to this trip. crowding was to be expected due to the high capacity of people allowed on the ship. I knew this going in that did not bother me that much I knew what to avoid and when after the first day. I never had trouble finding a table even when the buffet was at its busiest.found the choices at the buffet to be adequate. We did the breakfast there everyday and lunch. We did not purchased the dining package because it did not include any of the restaurantsat my family wanted to eat at. So therefore we did not use any of the pay restaurants and I cannot give a review on that. I give very high recommendation to entourage for teens.we hardly saw our 15 year old and he said this was the best trip of his life he loved entourage and all of the counselors and activities that they did along with all of the activities the ship itself provided like the rope course etc. the photographers were phenomenal. Our cabin steward was exceptional he was above and beyond Bradley was the best cabin steward we had so far. adult activities were also very good a wide range to choose from and the shows were great. Never had a problem getting into a show. Our service in the Manhattan room was very very good. the downside to the trip was some of the bartenders a scarce few but they were quite rude. We did have the drink package so we were tipping because we knew they weren't getting tips from the drinks that we were ordering. There was one in particular that was extremely rude and refused to make certain drinks and talked very nastily to me at one point for something that didn't even have to do with me. I avoided that area of the ship for the last two days of the cruise because of his rudeness. My 10 year old was in splash Academy he did not attend the last two nights because on the one night one of the staff members cursed at them. I did not bring this to the attention of anyone on the ship at the time although I was infuriated that that's why he wanted to leave early. He called our cabin 7 times trying to get us to pick him up early after that incident we had the iconcierge and the staff was aware of this and did not try to contact us on that as they knew we were going to be by the pool. I wanted to enjoy the rest of our trip and not create a scene so I will be writing a letter to NCL to voice my disdain with the staff member from splash Academy for the 10 to 12 year olds. my overall opinion of the screws is fair. Had it not been for the last two incidents I mentioned I would say it was great but the way we were treated by certain individuals brings my rating way down. I'm not sure if I will take this particular ship again and I'm not ruling out NCL as I book the gym for next April and I'm hoping that the staff is much better there since its 10 days I'd like for my son to be able to attend splash Academy some of the days.
