We have been on many different cruises, that we have always enjoyed and relaxed on. Unfortunately, this was our least favorite cruise line and sadly do not plan on going on Norwegian cruise line again.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We found the embarkation to be pretty easy and not too long.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We thought the food was pretty good in the buffet, as well as in the main dining rooms.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We wish there was more activities that didn’t cost extra for us to do.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Well we definitely wish there were more shows offered and more times. When we went to the Beatles show it was very crowded and we were able to find seats because we got there early. Also, when we went to the Jersey Boys show we could not find any seats; even though my brother reserved it online. The show that we really wanted to see was “Six”, but it ended up getting canceled because the cast was sick, so the show was replaced with a very lame comedian; who only knew raunchy pathetic jokes! I guess that’s why he is performing on a cruise ship.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
We really appreciated the kindness of our room stewards and the waiters/waitresses.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
My husband who enjoys smoking his cigars in the cigar lounge on cruises, unfortunately did not have the same pleasure on the Bliss. The cigar lounge was really small, so he did not like the idea of being sitting extremely close to others. It was not a comfortable setting for him.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
This is a ridiculously small cabin! Especially compared to other cruise lines we have been on; the Bliss absolutely hands down has the tiniest room that we ever experienced. We also did not appreciate how hard the doors consistently kept slamming; so much for sleeping without get awoken by a very hard door slam!
Ship tip
My advice would be to mentally prepare your mind for an unusually small state room, or try to save up for a balcony room and hopefully that’s a decent size room.
This was a nice port, but very limited amenities by the beach we went to. I also did not like or appreciate when I was going back to the ship, one of the little security guard had stopped only me and had the nerves to ask me for my ID; as if my Norwegian cruise card wasn’t enough! Apparently it was enough for the many other people that only showed him that before me!
Bliss is a huge vessel, tendering to Cabo is a must - it can't dock anywhere; we had to tender on my cruise. There are many websites that show you the square footage of the staterooms for reference. And I agree about the doors; my neighbor had to remind me politely that I was slamming my door too hard and I wasn't even aware it was happening.
I was on this same cruise. I had no trouble getting seats to Jersey Boys. You have to show up for any shows on NCL early if you want good seats. If you get there 10 minutes before you are out of luck. The balcony cabins are also just fine as far as size. Interior cabins are small on most cruise lines, you get what you pay for.
