Everything 'booked' before ship even sailed away from NY. Daily flyers stated NO food or drink taken OFF ship. NOT true!!

Review summary

I think I said it all above. Been on Breakaway, Escape twice, Gem out of Boston twice, among other cruiselines. just really hated never being able to use the highly advertised race track. that was our main reason for choosing this ship for our last family cruise, even leaving NY in the cold and coming back in snow. it was worth the chance. had we been advised it was never available, we would have done something else.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fine - delay due to illness on previous cruise. Everything was smooth and very clean.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Specialty restaurants wonderful. Garden Café same almost daily - 4th NCL ship and nice but not fave. Said towel animals in room - not. Not even any hand lotion.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
we had 16 and 20 yr olds. there was never one minute where they could reserve a time to use race cars. when I asked (several employees) I was told they were sold out within an hour of boarding but there is always standby - if you want to go all the way to the top of the ship only to be disappointed again. boring on sea days for those ages - two tiny bowling allies always loaded with kids. going through shops once was plenty.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
husband and I went to see 'beatles'. I loved them! saw Jersey Boys. Was 'full' but about 50 people in standby went in including us. very deceiving. 3 comedians were very good.

Children's Programs

16 and 20 yr olds weren;t interested in children's programs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was wonderful, dining people did their job. I understand they were tired - so get someone to take over a shift or two. we all paid with no discount. in morning no one came to tables with coffee in garden café - all 7 days. Everyone looks forward to a little fun and joviality.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Perfectly clean and maintained perfectly. atrium is ridiculously small on all the ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
All were perfect and well taken care of.

Ship tip

DO NOT count on getting a turn on the racers unless you have connections and book every single thing as soon as possible.

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

just drove from NH and parked. all was fine there.

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
We have been there many times but enjoyed going to Ron Jon's and stores in that area. Took round trip shuttle from ship and was perfect.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

4 out of 5
in our daily paper it was firmly stated NO water, NO food of any sort to be taken off ship but everyone did and always do - except us as we had never seen this before. Very beautiful as advertised but people did save 4 to 6 chairs on regular beach. Nothing to do with NCL. it was indeed a beautiful area. Couldn't stay in hot sun long enough to eat or get a drink.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
No excursion but daughter and her husband and 2 boys (the 16 and 20 yr old) did the drive around and they had a wonderfully informative driver and got to take many beautiful pics and even visit atlantis.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was done very neatly and orderly. Long line as expected but moved right along and many people assigned to guide us along. perfect!

As I understand to much thing to do in a short time...! We will be on the Bliss for 14 days 01/05 to 19 I think that will be more easy for a 14 day cruise
