Norwegian Bliss

7 Night Bahamas & Florida (New York Roundtrip)

Sail date: November 24, 2019

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Review summary

The Bliss remains a beautiful ship and the service is second to none. The onboard crew pull out all the stops everytime. It was busy but to be expected being thanksgiving. However we found our areas and never really felt crushed in, despite the ship being full. The Haven experience is well worth looking at as it opens up so much more like the Haven Courtyard & Pool, the Horizon Observation Lounge, Haven Restaurant and of course the services of the concierge and butler.

Fast and efficient. Port staff very friendly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Never had a bad meal. Ate at the Haven Restaurant several times, food amazing and staff really made it a great experience. Tried Ocean Blue, Los Lobos and our favourite, Cagney's. 100% recommend speciality dinning. If you can (and it's warm) as for a table on the waterfront too.

Entertainment

Both Six and Jersey Boys were fab in the Bliss Theatre and the cast playing to nearly a packed house. Also saw Happy Hour the musical at the Social. 5 cocktails for about $29 each, worth it, as long as you don't mind the risk of being pull on the stage! 😊

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
From the room steward and Haven butler, to the Concierge and restaurant staff, they all gave 110%. How they remember passenger names and requests I have no idea, but it made the trip even better.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Having last sailed the Bliss over a year and a half ago when she was brand new, the ship is still as clean and beautiful as ever. It was very busy (being thanksgiving) and some fellow guests sometimes ate food on the stairwells, leaving their half empty plates there. The staff however made sure these were cleaned rapidly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
H9 Haven Spa Suite. Huge room and balcony with two chairs, table and a lounger. The room had plenty of storage including a walk in wardrobe. Hot tub in the corner of the room, huge bed and a variety of different light settings. Large bathroom too with a double sink and large shower. Access to Thermal Suite with the cabin, although quite busy on sea days, we made the most of it when getting back early from ports. Towards the back of the ship so have to walk forward and up a few decks to get to the haven area but helps work off some of those extra lbs!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Hired a car (although check first where the hire place actually is and what, if any, shuttles they provide). Went to Orlando for the day for shopping and a visit to the cheesecake factory!

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Very busy port as four ships in so didn't see an awful lot but would be somewhere to see again.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

Did the Kayak tour (double kayak). Guide was very informative and the island was beautiful. Busy as expected, but managed to get on a tender no problem as had the tour booked. Make sure if you're not on a tour to get your tender tickets before getting there.

New York, New York

Embarked and disembarked here. Highlights tour was informative and got to see some of the sights of New York.

Disembarkation

Did a highlights tour of New York to kill sometime as our flight home wasn't until 7pm. Nice end to the trip
