Norwegian Bliss

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 22, 2018

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Review summary

It was a complete ripoff. We paid quite a bit extra for the balcony & it didn't really matter. There was a service charge of $14.95/per day which wasn't in the contract. I have no wonderful pics of the trip to share and we will not be returning to any of the ports we visited. Norwegian seemed to be just jamming as many people as possible onto the boat without considering customer service.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The food was tasteless and leftovers were used frequently. Seafood not edible, refrozen many times. "Prime rib" was not prime rib.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
over crowded pool decks where no lounges were available. Gym was fine.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
"The Beatles" were very good.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Our room didn't get made up the first 2 days we were there and had to get ahold of a supervisor. Rude personnel in doctor's cabin.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The ship design was very poor and cheaply constructed. Many times we were crammed into the elevator area with no space. At night, the pool decks were full of blown around trash and debris.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The cabin was Ok. However, the mirrors must have been stolen from a freak show because we were very distorted. Not conducive to luxury. Closet hangers rattled at night. The shower soap had been watered down and the towels were counted in an insulting fashion.

Ship tip

Don't go. I have been on many cruises and this was the worst. They seemed very greedy.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
no excursion. Just for docking.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

2 out of 5
We did an excursion to ride up the mountain. It was over half an hour late and had been touted as a 3 hour trip. Back in an hour and dropped off at a flea market. Felt completely ripped off.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

1 out of 5
Surly natives, angry from hurricanes, except for a couple of local women off the beaten track who were great.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
By this time, we were scared to do any excursions for fear of being ripped off. The Straw Market was good.

Disembarkation

Couldn't wait to get off the ship.
