Review summary

The cruise was okay. The itinerary gave you little time to experience the port. I felt the excursions were very expensive for what you received.

Alaska is expensive because they only get visitors 4 months or if the year. It is well worth it to visit, do excursions and just walk around the towns. Cruising is probably the best way to visit. We will be going back for our 4th time, love Alaska!

I bought the travel protection plan. I do any time I spend this much On a trip in advance.

Is it good to buy the travel protection?

All excursions are pricey. Just how it is. If you want to "experience" the port don't do excursions, just wander through the port shops and try restaurants in or just outside the port shopping area.
